Inky Paws 137 Christmas Card

 hi!

Happy last day of November! There's one more week left on the current inky paws color challenge of lime green, grass green, red, and white. Link a card up to the challenge here for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store :)

I used the gorgeous Holiday Foliage stencil for my background. I kept it white on white, embossing it with Ranger Texture Paste, although I did add a little bit of extra texture with Wink of Stella shimmer and Glossy Accents on all of the berries. I stamped the cute little holiday girl from the Christmas Trimmings stamp set on a tag I cut with the Fancy Edges Tag die set. I colored her with Copics, adding some Shimmer and Glossy Accents to the lights. I stamped my sentiment on red cardstock with Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder before fussy cutting it out. I added some fun details to the tag with green and red cardstock and the same die set and called it done!

P.S. Our Elf on the Shelf arrives tonight! follow along on instagram starting tomorrow at  #stanleetheelf2020 for this year's antics and #stanleetheelf for all of his shenanigans from every year!

very merry modern christmas

 Hello! Happy Thanksgiving week!

I love how this card turned out. It's for a new Inky Paws Challenge starting today, it's a color challenge with lime green, grass green, red, and white. Link a card up to the challenge here in the next two weeks for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store :)

I went for an out of character modern look with the Tiny Trees stencil and I love how it turned out! I embossed the stencil with Ranger Texture Paste and then inked the whole thing in Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink after the paste dried. Next I went row by row, adding a strip of masking tape and inking half of each tree with Pine Needles Distress Oxide ink. It looks so cool! I added a stamped, embossed, and fussy cut sentiment from the Ornamental Wishes stamp set and then finished the card off with a few dots of red puffy paint.

I hope you have a happy (and socially distant!) Thanksgiving!

a tropical christmas!

 Hello!

This is the second week of the "Use Your Favorite Newton's Nook Designs Product" Inky Paws Challenge. You have until Friday night to link a card up to the challenge for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store!

If you've been around awhile you've probably guessed that the Tropical Leaves Stencil is my very very tippy top favorite Newton's Nook Designs product. ever. Like if I could only choose one stencil to use for forever, it would be this one. I really wanted to use it on a Christmas card so I decided to pair it with another favorite, the Sun Soaked Christmas stamp set. I embossed and inked up my background and then die cut a circle out of the right side using the Circle Frames die set. I stamped my image on a card base and then colored it in with Copic Markers. I did a little masking to ink up my background and then added the sentiment. I used foam adhesive to attach my stenciled background (foreground?) and then finished it off with some tiny little red dots of Puffy Paint.

Inky Paws Challenge 136

Hello!

We've got a new Inky Paws Challenge starting today. The challenge is to use a favorite Newton's Nook Designs stamp set! Link a card up to the challenge here in the next two weeks for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store!

I'm a sucker for a cute Christmas train stamp set so I used the All Aboard for Christmas stamp set for this fun slimline card. I stamped all of my images and colored them with Copic Markers before fussy cutting them out. I inked up my background before cutting it out with the scalloped rectangle from the Slimline Frames and Portholes die set. I created the rest of my background with the Land Borders die set and the Forest Scene Builders die set. I put everything together and added some puffs of smoke from the train, a sentiment, and some glossy accents and pom poms!

I hope you have a chance to play along with this challenge! I can't wait to see what your favorite Newton's Nook sets are!

light up the holidays

Hello and happy November! I have my second card for the #135 Inky Paws Challenge sketch today. Link a card up to the challenge here by Friday night for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store.

I made a bright and shiny Christmas card (my first one of the season!) using the super fun Light String Stencil set. This ended up being a 5 step stencil extravaganza. First I stenciled the light string with green ink. Next I embossed the lights with Ranger Texture Paste, I inked up the lights once the paste was dry and then added some Wink of Stella shimmer to the lights before covering all of them in Glossy Accents. After all of that was done I fussy cut three of the light strands out. I glued them down on a card base with a brick wall background and trimmed off the overhang. I stamped the kitty with the lights from Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp set and colored and fussy cut him out. I added him and a sentiment to a circle, die cut with the Circle Frames die set and added it to the card with foam adhesive. A little Wink of Stella shimmer and glossy accents on the kitty's Christmas lights and i was finished!
