inky paws challenge 126 part deux

Hello!

Here's my second card for the Inky Paws Challenge sketch. I used the pretty Floral Roundabout stamp set and some fun fussy cutting for this card. Remember to link a card up to the challenge by Friday night for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store ☺

I stamped the floral roundabout and then traced a smaller circle inside it and fussy cut out around the flowers. Next I erased all of my pencil marks and colored everything in with copics. The background is super simple with just some paint splatter on woodgrain cardstock and a stitched piece of patterned vellum. The sentiment i a die cut with a pretty sprig of leaves fussy cut from the floral roundabout image. ♥

Have a fantastic week and wish me luck, I'll be painting my kitchen cabinets this week!

inky paws challenge 125 celebrate

hello!

There's still a week left on the current Inky Paws Color Challenge with yellow, green, orange, and turquoise. Link a card up to the challenge by Friday night for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store ☺

I used the Loads of Blooms stamp set for this clean and simple card. I stamped my bicycle lady and then drew myself a curvy horizon line. I curved my sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp set to follow my line and then fussy cut the top of the panel off. (then I dropped my cardstock and my phone, the phone fell on the fussy cut panel and wrinkled everything like crazy and I had to start over. cursing ensued.) I colored the image with Copic markers and then used foam adhesive to add it to a (no surprises here, my woodgrain compulsion is still going strong) piece of white woodgrain cardstock.

I did 8 hours of yardwork yesterday pulling weeds and cutting grass. i am pain. and sunburn. but it looks really pretty ♥

inky paws challenge 125 happy butterflies

Hi!

I was so happy I got the new Monarchs stamp set in time for this Inky Paws Color Challenge!  The colors for this challenge are yellow, orange, green, and teal. I'm not a huge orange and yellow fan but I love how bright and happy these butterflies are! Link a card up to the challenge in the next two weeks for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store ☺

I stamped out a ton of butterflies and colored them all (with different color combinations. it took awhile.) and fussy cut them out. I splattered some teal ink on white woodgrain paper (I'm going through a phase with this, plain cardstock just seems so flat and right now I need the extra dimension of the woodgrain?) I added a pretty teal die cut bracket and then stitched a strip of green cardstock I had stamped with the sentiment and die cut with the Land Borders die set on top. I bent the wings up from the bodies on all of the butterflies and then glued down just the bodies so the wings kind of float off of the card. My daughter wanted my leftover butterflies that didn't make it on this card so I gave them to her, then my other daughter wanted some and asked if she could take them off my card. "ummmm, no!" ☺

inky paws 124 hydrangea

hi!

There's one more week left on the floral themed Inky Paws Challenge!  Link a card up to the challenge by Friday night for a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store ☺

I used the Lovely Blooms stamp set to stamp a ton of hydrangea blooms, leaves, and stems and colored everything with Copics and Prismacolor Colored Pencils before fussy cutting everything out. I used a foam pad and a teaspoon measuring spoon to curve the flowers before adhering them all together with foam tape.

I was definitely thinking of the hydrangeas i made with a punch for my wedding place cards and favors 11 years ago. (i made so many hydrangeas and my cousin wrote out the names for me, doesn't she have the prettiest handwriting?!)

supplies:
Newton's Nook Designs Lovely Blooms stamp set, Newton's Nook Designs Little Lilies stamp set, Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags die set, Black Memento ink, Black Versafine ink, Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide, Stormy Sky Distress Oxide, Neenah Solar White cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, White Woodgrain cardstock, Copic Markers, Prismacolor Colored Pencils, Button Twine
