Inky Paws Fabulous Fall Challenge

Fall is here and there's still one week left to play along with the Fabulous Fall Inky Paws Challenge!

I used the Autumn Newton stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs to make this super fun fall pop up box card! I did a ton of masking, coloring, and fussy cutting on all of those leaves and leaf piles, after all of these leaves and last week's leaves, I'm kind of already ready to be done with fall 😏

I love these box cards 😍

We spent last weekend down in North Carolina at the beach and we'll be heading back down sometime around the middle of this week and staying until Sunday, my family rents an amazing house that's right on the beach and we love it there ♥
Wish us good weather and have a great week!

Inky Paws Challenge #81! I ♥ Fall!

Hello and happy Monday!
It's the beginning of a fresh new week and a new Inky Paws Challenge and almost a new season! Fall starts Friday and this Inky Paws Challenge is all about fall ♥

I used the Fall-ing For You stamp set and the Falling Leaves stencil from Newton's Nook Designs  for this one. I adore that sentiment (that stamp set was on my wishlist for the last year and then this year I also found it on a decorative sign at Michael's and snapped it up so now I can't wait to decorate for fall in November!) and I decided to frame the sentiment in tiny leaves. I did some ink blending with my Distress Oxides and then stamped the individual leaves over the blended color transitions (yellow to orange, orange to red, red to purple...) and then cut out what seemed like a billion tiny little leaves (and then I decided to fussy cut even more leaves out for next Monday's card!). I colored and cut out those sweet little pumpkins and assembled my wreath on some rustic cream cardstock around my sentiment. I did some more ink blending on my background with the Falling Leaves stencil and then put everything together. I finished it off with some pretty gold splatters ♥

The hurricane missed us last week thankfully, but it looked bad for a few days, Bree's school closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so she still has not had a full week of school yet, hopefully the weather and the universe will cooperate and she can have 5 full (well, full-ish, she has a doctors appointment on Thursday that I'll have to pull her out of school for...) days of school this week!

Is anybody ready for me to start sharing Christmas cards yet? I have a whole batch from last year that I haven't blogged yet and all of the new releases are just begging to be used! 99 days until Christmas! ♥

Have a great day and please join us for this challenge, as usual you could win a $20 store credit for the Newton's Nook Designs Online Store if you link up to this challenge!

challenge 80 part two!

I've got another card for the Inky Paws Challenge #80. I love this one ♥. I used the Newton Unwinds stamp set and stitched real thread over the balls of yarn and it turned out so super cute with such a lovely bit of texture to it :)

Usually sketch challenges are the hardest for me, but I love how both of the cards for this sketch turned out, so yay!

We're heading in to week 2 of kindergarten here today, I have no idea how it's really going because Bree never has a clue what she did each day when I pick her up. 😐

Tonight is her first dance class (she'll be taking a class with a half hour of ballet and a half hour of tap) and I'm so excited 😍

Emma has her two year check up today and I'm not so excited about the shots she'll have to get.

There's still a week left to join in on this sketch challenge for a chance to win the $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store! (and from the sneek peaks they've been showing of their upcoming release I'm betting everyone would love to win that!)

have a lovely day!

Inky Paws Challenge 80! (with sprinkles!)

Good morning and happy Monday!

Today is the beginning of a brand new challenge for the Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge Blog and it's a sketch :)
As usual, there's a $20 store credit for the Newton's Nook Designs Online Store up for grabs if you play along with the challenge, so for sure head over to the Inky Paws blog and check out some more inspiration for the sketch and then make something!

I'm really excited about this card, I just love how it turned out ♥
Shaker cards are always fun, and how much more exciting are they when they are filled with sprinkles!? I used the Newton's Donut stamp set for all of my stamping and the sprinkles are all covered with glossy accents which give them such a fun shine and texture!

So for Newton's little hiney I stamped the cat and donut on one side of a piece of cardstock and then used a lightbox to trace and sketch out his back for the inside of the card :)

I'm soaking up the last day with Bree before she goes off to kindergarten tomorrow 😭  She'll be in the same school she was in for early start last year but this year just seems bigger and scarier 😳

(I told Emma that Bree was going to school and that Emma would have me to herself most of the day starting this week and she said "yay!") 😏
