Inky Paws Challenge 83 part two!

hi!

I have my second card for the Inky Paws Challenge #83 sketch today. I went with a shaker card for this card and it turned out so fun! There's still a week left to play along with the sketch challenge for a chance to win $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store! (and their last release was ah-mazing so that $20 would come in handy! my new release order is supposed to be delivered today and i can't wait to play with it all!)

I used The Snow Globe Scenes and Sentiments of the Season stamp sets and the Starfield Stencil. I masked off my sky area and inked it up with Distress Oxides before stenciling the stars with texture paste, I sprinkled some glitter on top of the texture paste before it dried to make it sparkly and my little scene inside the circle is a shaker!

We had a fun fall weekend over here, on Saturday we went to a costume birthday party and then on Sunday we went out to a pumpkin patch (and it was chilly enough that we all had to wear jackets which is almost unheard of here in Suffolk in October!) Now that we've dressed up and done the whole pumpkin thing I'm kind of ready for Halloween to be over :)

bring on Christmas!

a merry menagerie

 Hello and happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone is ready for some Christmas cards!
Last year I made unique cards for everyone on my list instead of a mass produced family picture card and I mailed them so late in the year that I decided to wait until Christmas card season rolled around again to blog them :)

This one was for my aunt, and all of those animals are modeled after her current flock of dogs (6
!) and a cat (!)

soooo much coloring and fussy cutting!

have a lovely day! ♥

Fall-ing for Inky Paws Challenge 83!

hi!

There's a new sketch challenge today for the Inky Paws Challenge Blog! I decided to go with a cream colored pumpkin background for my bottom layer of the sketch using the Newton's Nook Pumpkin Patch Stencil and it turned out so soft and pretty!

I started off by masking off my stenciling area on a kraft colored card base and then I mixed up some Ranger Texture Paste with some Distress Ink Antique Linen Reinker so I could have a cream stencil paste for my background. Once my stenciling had dried I inked it up with some more Distress Oxide Inks. I used Antique Linen on the bottoms of the pumpkins, Gathered Twigs for the pumpkin stems, Bundled Sage for the vines, and Wild Honey and Ripe Persimmon together for the leaves. so pretty I kind of hated to cover it up! I added some ribbons across the card front and tied a twine bow over them. I used the Tree Ring stencil (I haven't been able to put this stencil down this week, it keeps ending up on all of my projects because I love it so much!) and some Old Paper Distress Oxide ink on some rustic cream cardstock. I die cut the stitched circle and added the sentiment to finish the card off!

Definitely try and play along with this sketch, it was a really fun one to work with! As usual, there's a chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs Online Store if you link up to the challenge!

Have a lovely day!

Trick or Treat! Inky Paws Challenge 82 ♥

hi!

I have my second card for Challenge 82 for the Inky Paws Challenge Blog! We're still on the color challenge of purple, orange, yellow, and lime green and I have another Halloween card!

I stamped my candy corn background with the Newton's Nook Candy Corn stamp set and colored it with Copics and coated my candy corn in glossy accents. After my glossy accents dried I inked up the background with Distress Oxide inks and splattered it with white paint. I colored and cut out my witchy kitty from Newton's Nook Boo-tiful Night stamp set with Copic markers on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I die cut some clouds out of vellum and I cut the tag from the Newton's Nook Tags Times Two die set and stamped my sentiment from the Creepy Cameos set. I put everything together on a white card base and added some sequins and baker's twine to finish it off!

We're very ready for Halloween over here! The girls have their costumes, I have (most of) my costume ready, we're decorated and ready to go! Every morning Bree wakes up and says "today is a Halloween day! Happy Halloween!" and she says hello and goodbye to our decorations when she leaves for school and comes home 😏

I love these box cards 😍

We spent last weekend down in North Carolina at the beach and we'll be heading back down sometime around the middle of this week and staying until Sunday, my family rents an amazing house that's right on the beach and we love it there ♥

Inky Paws Challenge #81! I ♥ Fall!

Hello and happy Monday!
It's the beginning of a fresh new week and a new Inky Paws Challenge and almost a new season! Fall starts Friday and this Inky Paws Challenge is all about fall ♥

I used the Fall-ing For You stamp set and the Falling Leaves stencil from Newton's Nook Designs  for this one. I adore that sentiment (that stamp set was on my wishlist for the last year and then this year I also found it on a decorative sign at Michael's and snapped it up so now I can't wait to decorate for fall in November!) and I decided to frame the sentiment in tiny leaves. I did some ink blending with my Distress Oxides and then stamped the individual leaves over the blended color transitions (yellow to orange, orange to red, red to purple...) and then cut out what seemed like a billion tiny little leaves (and then I decided to fussy cut even more leaves out for next Monday's card!). I colored and cut out those sweet little pumpkins and assembled my wreath on some rustic cream cardstock around my sentiment. I did some more ink blending on my background with the Falling Leaves stencil and then put everything together. I finished it off with some pretty gold splatters ♥

The hurricane missed us last week thankfully, but it looked bad for a few days, Bree's school closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so she still has not had a full week of school yet, hopefully the weather and the universe will cooperate and she can have 5 full (well, full-ish, she has a doctors appointment on Thursday that I'll have to pull her out of school for...) days of school this week!

Is anybody ready for me to start sharing Christmas cards yet? I have a whole batch from last year that I haven't blogged yet and all of the new releases are just begging to be used! 99 days until Christmas! ♥

Have a great day and please join us for this challenge, as usual you could win a $20 store credit for the Newton's Nook Designs Online Store if you link up to this challenge!

challenge 80 part two!

Hi!

I've got another card for the Inky Paws Challenge #80. I love this one ♥. I used the Newton Unwinds stamp set and stitched real thread over the balls of yarn and it turned out so super cute with such a lovely bit of texture to it :)

Usually sketch challenges are the hardest for me, but I love how both of the cards for this sketch turned out, so yay!

We're heading in to week 2 of kindergarten here today, I have no idea how it's really going because Bree never has a clue what she did each day when I pick her up. 😐

Tonight is her first dance class (she'll be taking a class with a half hour of ballet and a half hour of tap) and I'm so excited 😍

Emma has her two year check up today and I'm not so excited about the shots she'll have to get.

There's still a week left to join in on this sketch challenge for a chance to win the $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store! (and from the sneek peaks they've been showing of their upcoming release I'm betting everyone would love to win that!)

have a lovely day!

Inky Paws Challenge 80! (with sprinkles!)

Good morning and happy Monday!

Today is the beginning of a brand new challenge for the Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge Blog and it's a sketch :)
As usual, there's a $20 store credit for the Newton's Nook Designs Online Store up for grabs if you play along with the challenge, so for sure head over to the Inky Paws blog and check out some more inspiration for the sketch and then make something!

I'm really excited about this card, I just love how it turned out ♥
Shaker cards are always fun, and how much more exciting are they when they are filled with sprinkles!? I used the Newton's Donut stamp set for all of my stamping and the sprinkles are all covered with glossy accents which give them such a fun shine and texture!

So for Newton's little hiney I stamped the cat and donut on one side of a piece of cardstock and then used a lightbox to trace and sketch out his back for the inside of the card :)

I'm soaking up the last day with Bree before she goes off to kindergarten tomorrow 😭  She'll be in the same school she was in for early start last year but this year just seems bigger and scarier 😳

(I told Emma that Bree was going to school and that Emma would have me to herself most of the day starting this week and she said "yay!") 😏

Princess Invitations ♥

Good morning!

I'm really excited about the cards in today's post, they're the invitations for Bree and Emma's birthday party next weekend and they turned out pretty much exactly how I pictured them ♥

I bought a castle svg file on Etsy and then manipulated it to turn it into a gate fold card and then I made another cut file for the turrets so I could foil them with my Rose Gold foil. I designed the text in photoshop and foiled two of the lines in the rose gold. I bought the Princess torsos (which I also used for big decorations and for cupcake toppers for the party) on Etsy and cut them all out (I also flipped the picture in photoshop and printed out the reverse of the image so they could be glued back to back) and then I spent the rest of my life hot gluing those little tulle skirts on all of the Princesses ☺

I'm actually keeping this party a bit low key (seriously, my previous plans included turning my kitchen table into a carriage) But all of the party prep is almost done, I just have to finish cutting out wrappers and toppers for the cupcakes at this point!

Have a lovely day!

Inky Paws Challenge #79

hello and happy Monday!

It's time for a new color challenge for the Inky Paws Challenge Blog and it's such a fun and bright color scheme! It's pink, orange, yellow, and blue and I decided to go with watercolor (not my strong suit) for this card with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and the sweet florals from the Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms stamp set.

I did some masking to stamp all of my flowers in Versafine ink and then colored everything with my Zig pens and some water, then I masked off the flowers again and inked up the paper between the flowers with some distress ink. I fussy cut around the outside edges of the flowers and then added the colored piece to a card base with some foam tape.

simple, but super pretty and vibrant!
Come join us for this challenge for a chance to win $20 in store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online store and check out the Inky Paws Challenge Blog for more inspiration with this color challenge!
