Grateful for fall!

Hi there!

I have a couple of pretty fall cards today using Neat and Tangled's pretty Oak Leaf Die.
I love love love how pretty and delicate this leaf is. seriously, all the heart eyes.

For the cream lace one, I had this idea as soon as I ordered this die, I love partial die cutting and this card makes me so happy. I partially die cut the leaf out of the front of the card and then trimmed out the rectangle around the partial cut. I cut another leaf out of the wood veneer paper and glued that down on top.

I just love a card where the inside's just as pretty as the outside! For the inside I masked off the rectangle that would be visible from the front when it was closed and then did some ink blending with my new Distress Oxide inks (ohmygosh where have those been all of my life!?)  and then stamped the sentiment in black ink. I finished the whole thing off with some button twine and coordinating sequins.

This one was definitely a labor of love and patience. It took me about a week to finish because the concept kept evolving on me! I started by watercoloring some pretty orange to purple colors and die cutting them with the Oak Leaf. I embossed the die onto my card front and then adhered the inside pieces of one of the watercolored leaves. All of those itty bitty pieces, tweezers, and glossy accents with the precision tip. It took hours :)
Then I finished and couldn't figure out what I wanted to do next!

I ended up adding the leaf "frame" from another leaf with the colors going the opposite way around the innards and I think it turned out really fun. I layered a bunch of kraft layers of the leaf with a wood veneer on top and added that on top of the watercolored leaf. I flicked some gold paint on top, stamped the sentiment, and finished everything off with a bow! ("There's always time for a bow!" - my daughter is currently obsessed with Arthur Christmas)

It's been kind of nuts here lately with Bree. She's still going to speech therapy twice a week, behavior therapy once a week, we're on the waiting list for the developmental pediatrician, and the school has decided to do a full assessment of her to get her into an early learning program. All of the professionals we've seen seem to expect the developmental doctor to diagnose her with autism. On top of all of that, potty training is not going well.
Emma's growing and thriving, she can take about six unassisted steps at a time now. I'm so excited to take them trick-or-treating. Bree picked out witch costumes for both of them and they're so stinking cute! I can't wait to see how the holidays go in our new neighborhood :)
Anyways, I've been busy in the studio lately and already have a few more posts ready to go for this week so pop back in and visit!
