A Dinglehopper!

I had some fun with some of my new My Favorite Things stamps today to make a Little Mermaid card.

(excuse the ink blob on her hand. My maker decided to spit out a huge splotch of ink. fun.)

"dude. it's a dinglehopper. educate yourself"  😆

Bree had her feeding/occupational therapy this morning. A big part of why she needed it is her refusal to try new foods. Super picky eater. I was supposed to bring a few foods that she would and a few that she wouldn't eat to the appointment. I took peas, green beans, and mashed potatoes for what she wouldn't eat, and checked before we left the house to make sure she still refused them. She started sobbing when I even offered her a pea and suggested she taste it. That darn girl ate all of those foods in the office in front of the therapist. 😐
The therapist did ultimately recommend that Bree come in for the feeding/occupational therapy 2-3 times a week, and the other therapist recommended 2 times a week for speech therapy. My weeks are going to get a lot busier. (i might need therapy lol) Hopefully all of this well help and Bree will get everything sorted out to where she's "supposed" to be for her age level.
Em's doing really well, she's learned how to play, how to amuse herself a little better, when she's in a good mood she can play in the living room and not freak out if I step into the kitchen (when she's not in a good mood that leads to instant screaming...), she's eating really well, enjoying her sister and sitting in the stroller on our many trips to the zoo, now if I could just get her to sleep through the night she'd be perfect and she could move into her crib in Bree's room!

May The Fourth Be With You!

Happy May the Fourth!
Star Wars is kind of a big deal in our house so I thought I'd make a fun anniversary card (because my 8th wedding anniversary is next week!) with a Star Wars theme.

I wanted to make Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber and of course it had to light up!

I started out by designing my sentiment on the computer and printing it with my laser printer so I could add silver foil with my Minc machine. Next I stamped my background in versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. I designed the hilt of the lightsaber out of silver foil and black cardstock to look like Obi-Wan's and then cut the blade out of Neenah cardstock and colored it with Copics and a Wink of Stella pen. I cut a slit under where the blade would be on the background and then traced it onto a white card base and assembled my circuit and blue Chibi lights. I adhered everything together with foam tape and it was done! So fun! (but very hard to photograph at night since all of my lights for picture taking made the foil reflect all wonky!)

We'll probably be heading back to the zoo today. Every day when Bree wakes up she says "Circle Store (Target) and Joey Zoo (she loves the kangaroos at the zoo)?" and between those two choices I'd much rather waste an hour or two pushing the double stroller around the zoo when the weather's nice. The toy aisle at Target gets boring and I'm not tempted to redecorate our house at the zoo! Bree got the zoo membership as a birthday present last September and we'll definitely be renewing our membership. Now we just have to keep avoiding the mean peacock that likes to follow us around. ☺

Happy Birthday Jen!

Today's my cousin's birthday and I really wanted to share her card ☺ (even though I haven't mailed it yet because she moves tomorrow!)

The texture on this one is super fun with paper, velvet, wood veneer, and canvas!
I started off by stamping my Bella on Neenah cardstock with Memento ink and coloring her with Copics. I wanted her to sit on the bed so I fussy cut her out. I die cut my bed pieces out of wood veneer paper, sticky back canvas, cardstock, and adhesive velvet and assembled the bed on a gray card base. I stamped my sentiment at the top and then added the Bella to finish it off!

Emma is still sleeping in the pack in play in our room (she still wakes up at least 3 times a night) so reading in bed with a comfy mound of pillows still seems like a very distant dream to me! I have four more months of breastfeeding Emma, (I committed myself to 1 year of breastfeeding my babies and then I'm done!) but hopefully she'll be sleeping through the night or self soothing better before then and we can let her sleep in her crib and share a room with Bree! (although Bree sings herself to sleep, loudly, for a few hours after we tuck her in so I'm not sure how that will work.) Bree had a speech assessment appointment last week and they recommended two speech therapy appointments a week because she averages out to moderately behind where she should be, (her word variety is only slightly behind but her listening is severely behind, which i kind of knew lol) so now I'm just waiting on their office to call me and figure out when they can schedule her to start!
