I wish I could waft the scent of this card through the computer for you. It smells so good (and so does my studio!) This is a huge (thick) card, I had to use four layers of foam to make enough room for the coffee beans, but it's super cute, now I just have to make a custom envelope for it!
I started off by stamping everything in white Staz-on ink on a A2 size piece of clear cardstock. I die cut a frame out of wood veneer paper and then cut 4 frames out of brown foam to create my shaker. I adhered the frame on top of the clear stamped piece and then adhered the foam frames on the back, creating a well underneath the stamping. I filled it with coffee beans and glued it down to a dark brown card base.
A couple of things, you will definitely be able to smell this so don't pick a stinky coffee. I bought a super dark roast bag at the grocery store at first and it smelled awful so I had to make a run to Fresh Market and picked up some Vanilla Creme Brulee coffee and it smells so much better! Also, I used regular foam tape for the first version of this card and the white adhesive stuck out like a sore thumb against the dark card base. I ended up die cutting A2 size pieces of brown foam with the same frame die that I used for the front, but in hindsight I think i'd just cut thin strips of foam and glue them together to frame out the shaker rather than use the die. And third, if you forget to clean the white staz-on off of your stamps immediately and you don't have any staz-on cleaner on hand, alcohol wipes work perfectly!
Hope you had a lovely Easter!
