Hello and happy Monday!
I finally got my hands on one of Stamping Bella's Edna stamps and I had so much fun coloring her!
I started off by stamping Edna in Memento ink on a white piece of Neenah cardstock and then again on some masking paper in the exact same place using the MISTI. I fussy cut her (leaving a tiny border around her) and the white part of the card out of the masking paper and masked her off so I could do some ink blending with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry Distress ink. I removed the mask and then colored her with Copics. I wanted her wings to be a little shimmery but I haven't had good luck with my Wink of Stella pen lately, the glitter in it has been a little globby. So I dripped some of my Shimmer spray on an acrylic block and then used a paintbrush and painted the shimmer over her wings. It's a very delicate and subtle shimmer! I stamped my sentiment on the bottom, added some baker's twine at the top and then adhered everything down to a black card base!
Ugh. I went clothes shopping this weekend. I hate shopping. I am 31 years old, I'm not in amazing shape, and I am a stay at home mom of two little girls. I feel like all clothing stores are either for teenagers, professionals, people that are obviously much trendier and skinnier than I am, or much older. I definitely don't get some of the current trends. I don't understand what fringe, overalls, and bodysuits are doing back in fashion. I don't like all of the shirts with cutout shoulders (I kind of feel like someone just took scissors to the prototypes of current styles with all of the weird missing pieces and slashes...) I breastfeed my youngest so my boobs are big enough, I don't need to draw attention to them with extra ruffles. I need my nursing bras, so all of the strapless tops are out of the question. Shopping is a nightmare. I just want all of the clothes on my Pinterest stylish board to appear in my closet. I'm also a sucker for a good sales pitch so now I have a huge batch of stuff to return to White House Black Market (I seriously spent over $40 on a tshirt that says I love coffee?!) Also, I get to shop with the baby and the toddler; so after the fiasco of shopping, I would very happily share a martini with Edna ☺
Have a great day!
