I love macarons and I bought this stamp set from Avery Elle about a year and half ago and just now finally got around to using it!
I started out with a piece of pink card stock and one of Neenah Solar White cardstock, both cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I stamped the sentiment in versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder on the pink piece. Then, using my MISTI and some masking, I stamped the stack of Macarons on both pieces, the pink and the white, in exactly the same place in My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink in Natural (I wanted a light neutral Copic friendly ink). I set the white piece aside and did some ink blending on the pink piece, using Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry. After the piece was blended, I fussy cut the Macarons off of the pink piece and set that aside to do my coloring. I colored all of the macarons with Copic markers (using about 6 shades on each one!). I picked some of my favorite flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry, Lavender, Pistachio, Caramel, and Lemon! I adhered the pink piece on top of the colored piece with foam tape and then glued the whole thing to a white card base!
After being snowed in for 4 days the girls and I finally left the house yesterday to go to Target and it was glorious! Our weather jumped straight from freezing one day up to the mid 60s the next so all of our snow turned straight to slush, (or as Bree calls it snow-water) within an hour or two of sunrise. It's actually warm enough for flipflops, even though I feel ridiculous wearing flipflops in January when there are huge mountains of snow in store parking lots. But i hate shoes, so whenever it's warm enough to get away with flipflops, that's what i wear!
I've got a quick Newton's Nook birthday card to share tomorrow to finish off the week!
(tomorrow's the very best kind of Friday, it's payday!)
have a great day!
