Make a Wish

Hello and Happy New Year!

I organized my card stash the other day and realized I don't have any birthday cards on hand anymore so I'll be cranking out a bunch of them this month because one of my goals for this year is to send more birthday cards :)

I started out this card by stamping the sprinkles on the bottom of a white card in versamark ink and embossing them with clear embossing powder. I colored them in with my Zig Clean Color brush pens. I cut a piece of white cardstock down to 5 1/2" wide and stamped my sentiment in black ink. I masked off the bottom quarter inch of the piece and then stamped all of the candles in Lawn Fawn Merman ink. I peeled off the masking paper and added the flames in Lawn Fawn Carrot ink. I added the piece to the card with foam adhesive. I finished the whole thing off with some fun details on the candles. I used a dark orange Zig Clean Color pen to add a little detail to the flames and then added some shimmer to the flames with a wink of stella pen and added glossy accents to all of the candles. Shiny and sparkly!

It was fun to get back in the studio this last week :)
My December Daily album definitely did not happen last month. I'm starting to organize all of my pictures now and will hopefully get them printed by the end of next week, but it will be awhile. I'm still super behind in Project Life too, I have two albums to do for 2014, one for 2015 (that isn't printed yet), one that's printed but still needs everything else for 2016 and I still have to print September through the end of the year for 2016. I'm hopeful that I can get them all done and caught up this year. I'll be working on this year's album to try and keep up with it and then going back and doing some work on the older albums every other week or so whenever I'm caught up enough with cards for my blog posts :)
My One Little Word for 2017 is Hustle and I can definitely see how it applies to my crafting goals :)
I'm also training for my first full marathon in January of 2018 (I've run 10+ half marathons but I've never tried for a full one before) and adding in daily exercise in an attempt to drop the post baby weight. I've been doing the 30 Day Shred video and ouch.
Between exercising, catching up on our memory keeping, card making, blogging, training for my race, getting out of debt, and giving up Diet Coke for the year (!) I've got plenty of lofty goals to work towards :)

anyways, I'll be back with another birthday card to share tomorrow! Have a great day!
