As soon as I started seeing the sneak peeks for the August My Monthly Hero Kit I immediately told my Mom that I wanted the kit for my birthday, but my birthday is the day after Christmas so I had to wait and wait for it but I finally got it and it's so pretty!
I used the kit and one of the add on dies (the floral frame in the front) for this card with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolor pens and I kind of love how this turned out!
I started off by die cutting the floral frame out of a piece of Bristol watercolor paper and watercoloring the leaves, flowers, and butterflies with my Zig Clean Color pens. I stamped the fairies in Versafine ink and colored them with the pens before cutting them out with the matching dies. I watercolored the background with some Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch Distress ink on Ranger watercolor paper and then spritzed on some water droplets to leach out the color to give it a little bit of dimension. I layered the background watercolored piece on a card front and then added the next layer, cut with the wooded frame from the kit. I glued down the fairies and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink. I added the next frame with foam adhesive and die cut an oval from the woodgrain cardstock in the kit for the front. (it's a super thick card but since it's going to live on my windowsill, i don't mind!) (ignore the off-centerness of the oval frame!)
Emma and I went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them last night and I loved it! Em was on her best movie behavior, I fed her twice during the movie and bounced her a little bit and she stayed pretty quiet so yay! Today is her 4 month appointment so I get to take both girls to the appointment, keep Bree entertained (never easy at the doctor's office) and hold poor Em while she gets all of her 4 month shots. It's going to be a long one :)
Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow with a pretty and simple floral birthday card!
