sunny smiles

Hello!

I had this post all ready to go about a month ago but then I deleted it because I don't really like the card, but since I extended my vacation another week I had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for blog content :)

I painted my background on watercolor paper with Distress Ink and then I stamped the palm tree with MFT Hybrid black ink and colored it in and the island it's on with a black Copic marker. I stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts black ink. I adhered the watercolor panel to a card base and wrapped some twine around it to finish it off!

Elephant with Balloons

Hello!

I started with a white card base of Neenah Cardstock and masked off a frame, about 1/4" on each side. I used my ink blending tools to ink the background with Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink. I flicked some water on the background after it was all inked up to make some splotches for texture. I stamped the elephant and balloons on some Neenah cardstock, colored them with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out. I stamped the balloons again on the inked background and added stitching over all of the balloon strings. I adhered the balloons and elephant to the background and tied some string around the elephant's trunk to make it look like he was holding the balloons. I added glossy accents to the balloons. I finished the card off by stamping and embossing the sentiment in versamark ink and white embossing powder.  Simple and cute!

A Beary Special Day

Hello!

This card started off with a piece of Neenah cardstock, that I stamped the bears, cake, and presents on with MFT Black Hybrid Ink and colored with Copic Markers. Next I masked off my frame and all of the images and used Distress Inks and ink blending tools to ink up the sky and grass. I die cut the clouds out of the area within the frame and then stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the paper. I wrapped some baker's twine around a white card base and then added the bears with foam adhesive to finish it off.

R2D2!

Hello!

Today I've got the invitations and thank you cards that I made for Bree's birthday party.
I based the invitation on some that I saw on Pinterest. I designed the top part and cut it out with my Silhouette out of gray, black, white, and red cardstock and blue foiled paper. I inlaid all of the die cuts on a 5x7 card and added some glossy accents to the circles. I had my husband design the text for the invite because he's just way better at that :)

I just resized everything for the thank you card and put it on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card and stamped and embossed the sentiment with versafine ink and clear embossing powder.

I had planned to come home today, but my dad has the beach house for another week so I decided to stay until Friday :)

Puppy Dog Kisses

Hello and happy Friday!

This card has some fun masking and fussy cutting on it :) I started out with a piece of Neenah cardstock cut to 5 1/2" wide and stamped the dogs in MFT Black Hybrid Ink, masking off the gray spotted dog and the black and brown dachshund (it took me a full minute to remember how to spell that word...). I colored the dogs with Copic Markers and then fussy cut around the tops of the dogs. Is stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts black ink and then got to work on the background. I stamped the bones and hearts in a pattern on some Neenah cardstock in versamark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I sponged some pink ink over the embossed images, fading out from the center of the card to create a resist background pattern and then added some Wink of Stella shimmer to the insides of the hearts. I wrapped some baker's twine around the background and then added the panel with the dogs to it with foam adhesive and slapped the whole thing on a pink card base.

I'm almost out of all of the blog posts I got ready before Emma was born, so now I have to figure out how to make some time to get in the studio while I'm taking care of the girls all day. Mom leaves next Wednesday so it should be interesting to see how life goes once it's just me and the girls. Jeff can't really help that much with the parenting because he's taking three homework intensive classes along with having mandatory overtime at work, so when he is home, which isn't that much, he has a ton of homework to do that tends to keep him up until around midnight and then he has to get up for work at 5. sigh. this too shall pass, right? :)

Have a great weekend!
