The Nutcracker

Hello and happy Monday!

I have a couple watercolor Christmas cards today. I've said it before and i'll likely say it many more times, I'm not a watercolor artist :)

Here's the first card (I made a few of the same cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive!)

And the other design (same stamping and coloring, just using different parts of the die cut frame)
 here's the inside:
and an angled shot to see how shiny and pretty all of that gold paint is!

I stamped everything on watercolor paper using Versafine ink, masking off the presents and the girl's arm to create a little depth. I colored everything in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a water brush and added the Finetech gold paint to the ornaments, the star, and the garland on the tree. (This is a super opaque paint so you have to be careful not to go over the lines or it will cover them up so that garland was done with the teensiest paint brush and it was not quick!) I assembled the cards with my die cut frames and white card bases with the sentiment stamped inside!

I had my first Starbucks red cup drink this weekend! It was delicious, Jeff and I had a little coffee date (with the girls of course) on Saturday evening. We took advantage of the buy one get one holiday drink offer and had a little tasting party with the Chestnut Praline Latte, the Peppermint Mocha, the Gingerbread Latte, and the Caramel Brulee Latee. Oh my gosh they were so tasty! And so pretty! It's like Starbucks is daring anyone to call them less than festive this year after last year's red cup controversy, there are so many cute Christmas things this year! All of the red cups, the bags are gorgeous, the sleeves are pretty, and so. many. awesome. gift cards! I'm having such a hard time narrowing down what I'll want to put in my December Daily, I don't want an album just full of Starbucks!

I took the girls to see Santa on Saturday morning, there was an open house at a store near me with free Santa visits with a foodbank donation so I decided to go ahead and get it over with (and save the money a visit to the mall Santa would have cost!) Emma was very chill of course and took a great picture, Bree absolutely refused to go anywhere near him. She started crying as soon as we walked in the store and wouldn't take another step in once she saw Santa, I had to carry her the rest of the way while she screamed so I didn't force the issue or try and plop her on his lap (I like Santa too much to do that to him!). Maybe next year she'll do better. (I certainly hope she will because next year we'll be at Disney World for Christmas and they have the best Santa!)

I'll be back with more cards on Wednesday, have a fantastic day!
