Prickly & Bright!

Hello and happy election day! (if you're American, go out and vote!)

I have another card for the Hero Arts Holiday Cardmaking Challenge and the 30 Day Coloring Challenge today :)

I'm trying to get more practice with my watercolors but it's super discouraging when nothing turns out the way I want it. (and it's also pretty frustrating that my daughter keeps sneaking my markers out of their box and hiding them...)

So this one took awhile but was actually pretty simple. I stamped everything in waterproof ink on watercolor paper with lots of masking to build some dimension. After everything was stamped and dry I watercolored everything with my Zig Clean Color Markers. I adhered the watercolor panel on a gray card base with foam adhesive and finished the card off with some Wink of Stella shimmer and Glossy Accents on the Christmas lights and the dots on the cactus on the right.

Have a great day! I'll be glued to CNN this evening for election results!

  1. Love the dimensionality of your work! You even made the tall cactus look not in sharp focus, cause it does look fuzzy in real life.
Great use of colors, and the lights are a perfect finishing touch. Keep up the great work!
