Sealed with a Kiss

I have a quick card today with the cute little seals from Newton's Nook Holiday Smooches set :)

I stamped my seals, sentiment and mistletoe in Memento Black ink on Neenah cardstock and trimmed it down to a little thinner than my seals. I colored the seals with Copic markers, using my colorless blender to make some bleached out spots on the backs (so cute!) I wrapped the panel with some baker's twine underneath the sentiment and put foam tape on the back. I stamped a piece of red cardstock, cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with the snowflakes in versamark ink and embossed them with Hero Arts white embossing powder and then added in the hearts with Lawn Fawn Cranberry ink. I adhered that piece to a white card base and then adhered my stamped and cut panel on top. I finished the whole thing off with a few cute little details: some glossy accents on the noses, a white pom pom on the santa hat, and some wink of stella shimmer and glossy accents on the mistletoe berries.

I finally got to watch the Gilmore Girls Netflix special today and I have to say I didn't love it. It was really nice to see the characters again but I feel like they got most of the main characters a little wrong. (hopefully if we ever get a Friends reunion they'll do a better job with the writing!)

I'll be back tomorrow with another card! Have a great day!

O Christmas Tree!

I don't have my card for today ready so It will be posted on Tuesday instead. I was up super late the last two nights lighting and decorating our Christmas tree!
I thought since I don't have my card to share today that I'd share some pictures of the tree decorating instead :)

I'll be back tomorrow with a fun card to share!

November Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and if you're brave (ie crazy) enough to face the Black Friday sales today I wish you luck!

I have a fun Christmas card for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop today :)

Here's my card:

so shiny!

and here's the inspiration image:

I loved the colors and I'm a sucker for a white Christmas tree. (my dream is to one day have a studio that's big enough to fit a Christmas tree so I can have a super girly tree!)

I started off by stamping my tree in versamark ink on a piece of white card stock and embossing it with clear embossing powder. I stamped the dots around the tree in versamark and embossed them with gold embossing powder. I cut a quick mask to cover up the ornaments on the tree from some masking paper and also cut half inch strips of masking paper to mask off the borders of my cardstock and then inked it up with an ink blending tool and some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Once that was done, I removed the masks and colored in the ornaments with Copic Markers and the added some Wink of Stella shimmer and glossy accents on top of each ornament. I die cut the word Sparkle from Hawaiian Shores Cardstock three times and glued them on top of each other to make a nice thick die cut word. I added some shimmer and glossy accents to that and set it aside to dry. I stamped the rest of my sentiment in black ink and added some baker's twine to the top of the panel - quick baker's twine tip: If you're using a baker's twine with metallic thread any cut ends can unravel really easily and look a little messy, if you dab on a little bit of multi medium matte on the end and twist it with your fingers it stays perfectly neat and tidy!
I adhered the Sparkle die cut when it was dry and then adhered the whole thing to a Hawaiian Shores card base with foam adhesive.

I usually start decorating for Christmas as soon as the Thanksgiving dishes are done but I'm out of town staying with friends this weekend until Saturday evening so I have to wait to put up my tree and it's killing me! Have a great time blog hopping! (I'll try to squeeze in a little bit of hopping while I'm nursing Emma today!)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

MFT Sketch #307

I'm popping in to post Wednesday's card early this week so I can enter it into last week's My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge :)

Here's my card:

and here's the sketch:

I started off by die cutting the rectangle out of a piece of Neenah cardstock cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I lightly traced the window on another piece of Neenah cardstock cut to the same size. I stamped my elves inside the window and then stamped and cut out masks for them. I masked the elves off and did my ink blending with Scattered Straw and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and then pulled the masks off and got to coloring! I stamped the stocking and the present again on another piece of cardstock and colored them and my elves with Copic markers. After all of the coloring was done I adhered my diecut frame piece on top of my colored and inked piece and stamped the sentiment. I adhered the stocking and present with foam tape and added some wink of stella shimmer to the bells on the hats and some glossy accents to the holly berries on the stocking. I glued the whole thing down on a white card base and it was done!

I'll be back on Friday with a card for Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop! Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
