Hello!
Today I have my card for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. The inspiration photo for this month's hop is down below my card, I really liked the background with the bright orangey leaves and terracotta berries so I decided to make a wreath for the leaves and berries, my wreath for all seasons stamp was a little smaller than what I wanted so I free handed my wreath and stitched it with embroidery floss (and then ended up covering up most of my sewing work with the leaves on top. sigh.)
so here's my card:
Here's a closer picture of the wreath:
and here is the inspiration photo:
I started out by stamping my background, Background Basics: Farm & Barn in a light gray ink and my sentiment, from Think Big Favorites #4 in Pinefeather ink on a panel of Soft Stone cardstock and then adhering that to a rustic cream card base. I die cut my tag out of Rustic Cream card stock and decided I didn't want the tag end of my scalloped square so I flipped the die around and cut the top off with the bottom of the die (you can see where I did this because it cut a double stitch line) I inked up the edges of the tag with Antique Linen Distress Ink with an ink blending tool. I sketched out my wreath and then stamped my leaves, in Bright Buttercup ink, with the bottom edge rolled in Summer Sunrise ink, and my berries, stamped in Canyon Clay Ink around the wreath. I pierced holes for my stitching around my wreath and then erased my pencil lines (which turned my sewing into a fun guessing game trying to figure out how I intended for all of my pierced holes to stitch together without the pencil guide lines!) I stamped my other leaves on some Rustic Cream cardstock in Summer Sunrise ink, with the bottom of the leaves rolled in Orange Zest ink and then fussy cut them out. I adhered the leaves to the wreath with glue dots and added the tag to the card with foam tape. I finished everything off with some enamel dots and a twine bow on the wreath!
Emma did not want to go to sleep last night. I didn't get her down and asleep in her bed until after 10 and then I finally got to start this card so I'm pretty sleepy zZzZzZ
Have a great day and enjoy the blog hop!
