I've got a card for this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge today!
This week's challenge is background building with frames. This card came together really fast (which is necessary these days with a 3 year old and a 1 month old!) and I really like how it turned out :)
I looked through my Papertrey Ink frame dies and I decided I really liked this frame from Simply Jane, (and I don't think i've ever gotten around to using this stamp set so it seemed like a good day to finally ink it up!) It kind of looks like the wallpaper in the Haunted Mansion at Disney World so I decided to pair it with Spooky Sweets for a quick Halloween card. (side note: I ordered this adorable Haunted Mansion print from Etsy last week and it should get here tomorrow and I'm so excited to add it to my Halloween stuff and decorate!)
I started this card by die cutting my frame down the right side of a piece of white cardstock, cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I saved the insides of the frames and set them aside. I adhered the die cut piece to a black card base and stamped the frames in the negative space with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I stamped my spider on the inside of my white center frame piece in Versafine ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I pierced holes above the spider and in the top inside piece and stitched silver thread in the holes to make the spider web string. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink in the bottom frame piece and added all of the white frame pieces to the card with foam adhesive. I finished the whole thing off with some silver and black 4mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
Today is my very last day with any help with the girls. eek! My mom goes home tomorrow and I'll be alone and outnumbered 6 days a week and Jeff can't help that much even when he is home because he's taking three classes this semester and has a ton of homework and is on mandatory overtime at work. Pray for me :)
