I love how this card turned out :)
I started off this card by covering some neenah cardstock with double sided tape and applying glitter to one side of the adhesive.Next I die cut the word sparkle out of the glitter paper and watercolored over the glitter with Distress Inks. Next I cut a strip of black cardstock and taped that together to two wide strips of Neenah cardstock to make a card front (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") I die cut the word sparkle out of that piece, making sure to keep all of the negative pieces from the word. I adhered the card front to a white card base and then "inlaid" the glittered die cut and the negative pieces. I stamped the sentiments in black ink and then stamped the sequins in the pink, orange, and yellow inks to match the glittered word. I finished off the card by adding the clear sequins on top of the stamped ones!
I'm in full on party prep mode around here. Bree's birthday party is tomorrow morning at our house and even though it's just a little party with family I'm determined to make it special since so much has been about Emma around here lately. She's having an R2D2 themed birthday party (this girl adores Star Wars). I made her party shirt before Emma was born and it's kind of adorable. I'll be baking and decorating her cake and cupcakes tonight, and tomorrow we'll be blowing up balloons and picking up pizza from Sam's club (her favorite food). I've decorated our kitchen shelves with fun Star Wars stuff and we have Storm Trooper masks and her treasured Darth Vader helmet. Now I just have to survive the actual day, take some pictures, take care of a newborn, make Bree feel special, and deal with 13 people inside my tiny little house!
Wish me luck and have a great weekend!
