Hello and happy Friday!
I've got a super fun nerdy card to share today!
This card has a ton of die cutting but it turned out so cute I definitely think it was worth it :)
I die cut the game controllers, assembled them, and then added the glossy accents to the buttons. I used the arrows die cut to make the background (not thinking ahead, I die cut the entire background, and then was mildly annoyed when I had to cover most of it up with the controllers!) I alterated strips of the stamped arrows with strips of the die cuts for the backgound. I adhered the gray background piece to a piece of Limelight cardstock, cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then stamped my extra nerdy detail inside the die cuts, (the up up, down down, left right left right was a universal cheat code back in the day, so it's a super fun detail if you notice and recognize it :)
I wrapped some baker's twine around the bottom, adhered the controllers, and then added the sentiment, stamped in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder, on some black cardstock to finish it off!
So it's been a week since Emma was born and so far she has been the rock star of babies. She is very sweet and snuggly, eats like a champ and has a perfect latch (so no breastfeeding pain!), she sleeps well and doesn't freak out when Bree gets loud, she doesn't mind being put down, and she's sleeping beautifully in her own bed at night and starting to give me longer stretches in between feedings, last night she actually slept for two and half hour stretches instead of the one hour sleeping spurts she was doing (zZzZzZ!). and she's so stinkin' cute! Bree's doing really well as a big sister, she's cautiously interested in Emma and likes to say hello to her and show her her toys. She sat on my lap while I held Emma the other day (which was a bit of a struggle to situate them both) and she laughed like a hyena whenever Em's foot or hand touched her. Other than that and occasionally bringing me a blanket for Em, Bree kind of ignores her. Thankfully Jeff has another week off from work and my parents are here too so Bree doesn't have a chance to feel neglected or ignored, there's always someone around to give her attention.
Have a happy labor day!
