Elephant Bubbles

Hello and happy Monday!

Today's card has some more watercoloring. (I'm still hoping that the more I practice, the better I'll get!)

I started out by painting my background on some Arches Water Color paper with Distress Inks and then after that was dry, I splattered some drops of the same colors over the background. I stamped the elephant and balloon on the water color paper and colored them with my Zig Clean Color Brush markers. After they were dry I cut them out, adhered them to the background, and then stamped the sentiment in the balloon ( I waited until the balloon was on the card because I wasn't sure how it would be positioned and I wanted the sentiment to not be crooked). I tied some baker's twine around the water color panel and then adhered it to a piece of Coal Mine cardstock cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then slapped it on a white card base!

It's vacation week! We'll be heading down to the Outerbanks this week for a little beach vacation! Sadly, even though the house we'll be staying at has a pool and a hot tub, and direct beach access, my midwife said I still can't swim until 6 weeks after having a baby so I won't get to play in the water with Bree. (but that means I also don't have to squeeze my squishy post-baby belly into a bathing suit!) It should be really fun though, even if Bree ends up in bed with me every night! (she doesn't sleep well on her own in strange places)
I got Emma's birth announcements this weekend and they're so super cute! I'll be taking them with me to address and mail out from the beach this week and then I'll share them here next week after they've had plenty of time to reach their destinations :)

Have a great day!
