I've fallen for the pineapple trend. :)
I sarted out with a piece of Ranger Watercolor paper, cut to 4 x 5 1/4" and stamped the pineapple background in versamark (masking off one of the rows of pineapples to leave room for a future sentiment) and embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. Next I watercolored over the embossed background using Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, I just love this color combo! (It might just be the end of pregnancy talking, but it makes me so thirsty for a rum punch or Wallaby Darned from Outback Steakhouse, or really any tropical summery cocktail) I stampled my sentiment in Hero Arts Black Ink and then stamped two pineapples from the Polynesian Paradise set on the watercolor paper in versamark and embossed them in the liquid platinum embossing powder. I fussy cut the pineapples out and added them to the background with foam adhesive. I added the watercolor background to a piece of Razzle Berry Cardstock, cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" and then added that to a white card base. I finished the card off with a bit of baker's twine (as usual), I just love this metallic twine, I got it at Target last fall in the gift wrap section and it picks up the shade of metallics on my cards gorgeously, it can look bright gold, copper, or even like this liquid platinum, so pretty!
So my "maternity leave" from my studio officially started today since my Mom is staying in there. I'll still be posting regularly here since I crafted like a crazy person to have enough blog content for the six week crafty break. I'm still working on Project Life catch up since I can do most of that sitting on my bed, I'll be working on updating random parts of my blog (like maybe finally adding an about me section!), I'll work on my stamp organization categories, and if I'm feeling ambitious I might even work on scanning in some old pictures! I'm a little bit worried about being able to get back in my studio after the baby's here and mom leaves, Bree completely derailed any creativity for over a year because she just wouldn't let me put her down, like ever. Hopefully this baby will be happier to sit in the swing or bouncer chair occasionally! Just for fun, because life with a toddler and newborn won't be crazy enough, Jeff starts a new semester of college classes the day after my due date and he's taking his biggest course load yet this semester, while of course, still working full time (with mandatory overtime.) yikes.Wish us luck!
