Good morning and happy Monday!
Today's card uses the same Tiki Masks I used last week, I just kept stamping more rows of them this time and colored everything very differently for a completely different feel :)
I started off by stamping my sentiment in Hero Arts black ink and then stamped all of my tiki masks in My Favorite Things Black Hybrid Ink on a panel of neenah cardstock cut down to 4" x 5 1/4". I colored the masks in shades of brown Copic markers and then I decided the background was too naked so I inked it up with some distress inks. I used my ink blending tool to blend Antique Linen Distress ink over background, I didn't bother masking off the tikis, I didn't ever concentrate the blending over the masks, but i decided that if any of the antique linen ink got on the masks that it would be fine. After the background was blended enough, I smooshed some Ground Espresso Distress Ink on an acrylic block, added a little water with my mini mister, and used a flat paint brush to flick the ink off of the block onto my project to make it all fun and speckled. I wrapped some twine around the right side of the panel and then adhered it to a Chocolate Brown card base with foam adhesive. To finish it off I added some details to all of the tiki masks with my white gel pen.
Holy Heartburn Batman! This baby is still supposed to take 27 more days to get here but if this heartburn keeps up I am so ready for her to be born (of course healthy baby is more important...) I can't eat or drink anything without dealing with horrendous heartburn for hours on end that in turn make me nauseous and then I have trouble keeping anything down. Zantac has completely let me down. sleep is out of the question because I can't lay down with the heartburn. 4 more weeks of this sounds so miserable. I have an appointment with my midwife tomorrow so I'm holding out a little hope that she'll magically tell me the baby will be here by this time next week - hey, it's my fantasy world, I can be ridiculous if I want to, i'm 36 weeks pregnant :) -
I learned how to make night sky/galaxy backgrounds with my distress inks this weekend and I love them! I made 8 backgrounds (i kind of assumed I'd mess up a few so I made extras but they all turned out pretty awesome!) and 6 finished cards. I'm working ahead so I have enough blog content for when my Mom is staying with us in my studio and when the baby gets here but it's so hard not to just share everything as soon as I make it!
I've got a pretty card with more Copic coloring to share tomorrow, have a fantastic day!
