I made two cards of the same design because I couldn't quite decide on how I wanted to color them, so I thought I'd share them both!
The only thing different about them is that the oranges are painted on the card on he left, and I painted a gradient wash over the whole panel on the card on the right, I still can't decide which one I like better!
I started with two water color panels and stamped the oranges in versamark and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I smooshed the three Distress Inks on acrylic blocks and spritzed them with water to use for water coloring. For the first card I just painted the oranges with the inks and for the second card I swiped some water over the whole panel so the ink would "move" better and then painted the whole panel so the embossed oranges resisted the ink. While they dried I die cut the banners from Orange Zest cardstock and stamped and embossed my sentiment on them. I also stamped the mini hexagon stamp on a Sunshine cardstock panel to use as my background and then adhered it to a white card base. I sliced up the painted orange panels and adhered them to the yellow base, wrapping some baker's twine and then adhering the banner in between the two pieces on both cards. I used a Wink of Stella pen on the sections of the oranges to make it sparkle and then used glossy accents on top of that and finished each orange off with a tiny orange rhinestone in the center!
We've got some yucky storms in the forecast today, tomorrow, and Thursday so Bree and I are just planning to stay tucked in the studio and hopefully will get a bunch of cards done! And hopefully the rain will stop by Friday for my maternity pictures *fingers crossed*
I spent yesterday evening (while Jeff was away at his concert) swatching my nail polish collection. I ordered some fake nail stick things from Amazon and spent about 2 hours with them, my nail polish, and my trusty label maker and had way too much fun with it. But look how pretty!
Have a fantastic day!
