Good morning and happy Monday!
I've got a water-colored sunflower card to share this morning :)
I started out by cutting the sunflower coverplate out of watercolor cardstock (and man did it give me trouble, I ran it through my cuttlebug over and over again with the thickest sandwich i could fit in the machine and all sorts of metal and cardstock shims and it was an absolute pain to cut all of the little bits out of the petals and center of that flower...) Next I painted it with watercolors and flicked on some darker brown paint on the center of the flower. I stamped a kraft card base with my favorite woodgrain background and then I adhered the sunflower. At that point I thought the colors were just way too vibrant for what I was going for and it was looking a little garish and tacky so I cut a panel of vellum and stitched that on top to soften it. I stamped my sentiment on the vellum, added some twine and it was done!
I got some work on my 2014 December Daily this weekend which is super exciting to me, I'm hoping *fingers crossed* to go ahead and finish that one today and then spend the next two or three days cranking out my 2013 December Daily album and then I'll actually be caught up on those albums! (for the sake of my sanity we won't discuss how far behind I am in my Project Life albums today...) Then I can film a walkthrough of all three albums and share them here this month for some Christmas in July posts :)
Have a fantastic day!
