Today's card is for the July Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!
(I'll be honest, I don't love this card, I never seem to be able to make amazing cards based off of inspiration pictures or sketches. it's weird, I guess my brain just doesn't work like that...)
But anyways, here's the card:
and here's the inspiration picture
So for this card I started off with a panel of water color paper and stamped my flowers and leaves in versamark and embossed them with gold one at a time, masking them off to build the layers. Once they were all stamped and embossed I smooshed my inks on an acrylic block and spritzed them with a little water to use them as water colors and painted the flowers. (obviously water coloring is not one of my talents...) I stamped the insides of the flowers and then painted a little bit more around the centers to fill them out and then stamped the sentiment in Enchanted Evening Ink. I wrapped baker's twine around the panel and then adhered it to an Aqua Mist card base and then finished everything off with sequins. (partially to hide where my painting went outside of the lines!)
We had a pretty slow weekend here. It was hot so we stayed in the air conditioning as much as possible. The baby is still a little high and crowding my lungs and I can't breathe when it's hot so I've been keeping the AC at about 71 degrees and just dressing myself and Bree in sweatpants. It's cozy :)
Tonight my husband has a concert to go to about 2 hours away so I REALLY hope I don't go in to early labor tonight! I've got some fun cards to share this week with more watercoloring, and some Copic coloring and then I'll have the video of my 2014 December Daily album up on Friday!
Have a fantastic day and happy blog hopping!
