Good morning! I hope you all survived the 4th of July yesterday! I live somewhere where personal fireworks are illegal but that didn't stop my obnoxious neighbors from shooting them off all. night. long. (seriously, they started around 9 and didn't stop until around 2 or 3 am.) Thankfully we wore my daughter out with a bunch of errands so she slept through the whole thing (even though they were setting them off right. outside. her. window. I might have a wee bit of anger issues about this...)
I have a fun summery card to share today for the first day of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge! I love these challenges so much and I'm excited to play along this month :)
Here's an angled shot to show off all of the fun glossy accents and the shimmery water!
I actually used my silhouette for this card! I cut the splash pattern out of MFT Sno Cone cardstock and then swiped some wink of stella shimmer over it and then covered it with glossy accents. While that was drying I stamped, die cut, colored, and glossy accented the two kids. (side note, be very careful when you're cutting your dies apart, the dies for the kids are open dies and had lots of little dies wired inside the kid designs and when I was cutting the other dies off, i totally cut off the negative space between their arms and bodies. oops.) I stamped the sentiment on a blue cardstock panel and embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder and then I used a whole mess of blue distress inks to make a pretty ombre color fade on the cardstock. I adhered everything together, added some baker's twine and stuck it on a white card base to finish it off!
I spent a good chunk of the holiday weekend working on some Christmas ornaments using Papertrey Ink's Petite Places line, (they're for Christmas presents and I figured that I had a better chance of getting them finished if I did it before the baby gets here!) they're super cute and I'll share them sometime this month. It was a struggle keeping my daughter from grabbing the little houses, she wanted them desperately. :)
I'll be back tomorrow with a fun summery watercolor card! Have a fantastic day!
