Hello and happy Monday!
I've got a birthday card for the My Favorite Things Card Challenges 10th Birthday Celebration Challenge today. You had to use 10 somethings or just basically incorporate 10 in your card somewhere so I used 10 of the flamingo die-namics and I had to go with a super long card to make them all fit!
Soooo, to start off I cut a Neenah cardstock panel to 3.75 x 9.25 inches. I cut strips of black and white cardstock 1/2 inches wide and adhered them to the cardbase to make that pretty stripey background. Next I started on the flamingos. I die cut the flamingos from 5 different colors of pink cardstock (2 each) and then added different shading to each one with my Copic markers. I die cut the head of each flamingo again out of white cardstock so I could color and cut out the beak and adhere it on each bird. I cut a strip of pink cardstock (9.25 x 1 inch) and stamped the sentiment on it. I adhered that and the striped panel to another white panel cut to 3.75 x 9.25 and then wrapped the baker's twine around it. I adhered the flamingos (and the legs) using foam adhesive to pop some of them up for a little bit of extra dimension. I adhered the panel to a card base and then finished the whole thing up with sequins and some enamel accents for the flamingos' eyes.
I've been on a bit of a flamingo and pineapple kick the last two summers, I just love this flamingo die. I used it last year for Bree's birthday invitations but it looks so much better with the Copic shading on it :)
I did some more purging and nesting this weekend in my studio, I got rid of - and by got rid of, I mean packed it up in my shed for my mom to take home with her after her visit this fall. She doesn't like me to get rid of stuff even if she'll never use it ;) - most of my 12x12 patterned paper, a whole mess of Christmas embellishments that I was never going to get around to using, and a ton of ribbon. (and I sorted what was left of my ribbon! Now I might actually use it!)
The few 6x8 prints I ordered for my 2013 December Daily album should be here on Tuesday so I'll get to film the walkthrough videos of my 3 December Daily albums this week and I have a ton of cards to make (trying to work super ahead so I'll have blog content after Emma gets here!)
Have a fantastic week!
