December Daily Sneak Peek

I'll be popping in tomorrow to share my December Daily progress, but I won't be regularly blogging cards during the rest of this month. December is just too crazy to try and keep up with everything so after a few panic attacks/mini breakdowns this weekend I've decided to give myself a little grace and relaxing my blog standards for this month and let a few other things go :)
I'll still share any progress for my December Daily in the next two weeks here and my Christmas cards (when they're done)

here's a sneak peek of my album!

I'll be back with better pictures, my cover page, my intentions page and Day 1 tomorrow!

Magical Snowflakes

Hello and happy December!

I have a shimmery Christmas card today using Papertrey Ink's What the Doodle: Snowflake stamp set. I love that line of stamps, I have the butterfly, ornament, and snowflake but I think I need to own them all :)

I started off with a piece of Spring Rain cardstock cut to the size of an A2 card and I stamped the snowflakes all over it in versamark ink and embossed them with Wow! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter. I also stamped some snowflakes and the snow flurry on vellum and embossed them before cutting them out with the matching dies. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and cut it down into strips and added it and some aqua mist thin strips to the spring rain piece with foam adhesive. I added the die cut vellum snowflakes with some Ranger Multi Medium Matte and then adhered everything to a white card base. I finished the whole thing off with some clear rhinestones.

I kind of feel like December is like a final exam of the year for moms and for crafty moms it's more like a doctoral dissertation :)
I have cards to make for the blog, cards to make for gifts, our Christmas card to design and make, the Christmas letter to write, Project Life to catch up on, December Daily to keep up with, blog posts to write, our elf to keep up with, presents to wrap (I'm thankfully done shopping), fun activities to plan and document, and of course a baby and a toddler to keep up with. Jeff's schedule isn't much better with work, mandatory overtime, and school, he has two music tests, a music final, a paper to write about a concert he had to attend (and this music class is no joke, it satisfies one of his elective gen ed requirements and we thought music appreciation would kind of be a walk in the park but it's been his hardest class this semester!) two final projects for technical writing, one calculus test and the calculus final exam all in the next two weeks. It should be interesting!

I'll be back tomorrow with my December Daily album and cover page to share!
Have a great day!

Sealed with a Kiss

I have a quick card today with the cute little seals from Newton's Nook Holiday Smooches set :)

I stamped my seals, sentiment and mistletoe in Memento Black ink on Neenah cardstock and trimmed it down to a little thinner than my seals. I colored the seals with Copic markers, using my colorless blender to make some bleached out spots on the backs (so cute!) I wrapped the panel with some baker's twine underneath the sentiment and put foam tape on the back. I stamped a piece of red cardstock, cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with the snowflakes in versamark ink and embossed them with Hero Arts white embossing powder and then added in the hearts with Lawn Fawn Cranberry ink. I adhered that piece to a white card base and then adhered my stamped and cut panel on top. I finished the whole thing off with a few cute little details: some glossy accents on the noses, a white pom pom on the santa hat, and some wink of stella shimmer and glossy accents on the mistletoe berries.

I finally got to watch the Gilmore Girls Netflix special today and I have to say I didn't love it. It was really nice to see the characters again but I feel like they got most of the main characters a little wrong. (hopefully if we ever get a Friends reunion they'll do a better job with the writing!)

I'll be back tomorrow with another card! Have a great day!

O Christmas Tree!

I don't have my card for today ready so It will be posted on Tuesday instead. I was up super late the last two nights lighting and decorating our Christmas tree!
I thought since I don't have my card to share today that I'd share some pictures of the tree decorating instead :)

I'll be back tomorrow with a fun card to share!
Have a great day :)

November Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and if you're brave (ie crazy) enough to face the Black Friday sales today I wish you luck!

I have a fun Christmas card for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop today :)

Here's my card:

so shiny!

and here's the inspiration image:

I loved the colors and I'm a sucker for a white Christmas tree. (my dream is to one day have a studio that's big enough to fit a Christmas tree so I can have a super girly tree!)

I started off by stamping my tree in versamark ink on a piece of white card stock and embossing it with clear embossing powder. I stamped the dots around the tree in versamark and embossed them with gold embossing powder. I cut a quick mask to cover up the ornaments on the tree from some masking paper and also cut half inch strips of masking paper to mask off the borders of my cardstock and then inked it up with an ink blending tool and some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Once that was done, I removed the masks and colored in the ornaments with Copic Markers and the added some Wink of Stella shimmer and glossy accents on top of each ornament. I die cut the word Sparkle from Hawaiian Shores Cardstock three times and glued them on top of each other to make a nice thick die cut word. I added some shimmer and glossy accents to that and set it aside to dry. I stamped the rest of my sentiment in black ink and added some baker's twine to the top of the panel - quick baker's twine tip: If you're using a baker's twine with metallic thread any cut ends can unravel really easily and look a little messy, if you dab on a little bit of multi medium matte on the end and twist it with your fingers it stays perfectly neat and tidy!
I adhered the Sparkle die cut when it was dry and then adhered the whole thing to a Hawaiian Shores card base with foam adhesive.

I usually start decorating for Christmas as soon as the Thanksgiving dishes are done but I'm out of town staying with friends this weekend until Saturday evening so I have to wait to put up my tree and it's killing me! Have a great time blog hopping! (I'll try to squeeze in a little bit of hopping while I'm nursing Emma today!)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
