mommy stuff

Bree's sick right now and in need of constant cuddling. So I won't have anything to share until she gets better. (which hopefully won't take long) Have a great day and think healthy thoughts for us!

Project Life Update Video

hi there! I've got a quick video of my Project Life album for 2015 from January to sometime in May. (I am a *teensy* bit behind...)

We won't even talk about how far behind I am in my 2014 album. But 2016 is the year that they will be finished! (before my life gets any crazier!) I'll keep you updated with my progress (because there will be progress. there will. If I keep repeating it it's sure to happen right?!) :)

moving away from Christmas cards...

hi there! I've got a birthday card to share today, it was a bit of a relief to make a card that has nothing to do with Christmas :)

I was itching to do some copic coloring the last few days so I knew I wanted to pick a coloring-intensive image for today. I die cut the stitched frame out of Neenah cardstock and then stamped the little Stamping Bella stamp in My Favorite Things Black Hybrid ink and the sentiment in Hero Arts black ink. I colored the image with my Copics and then stamped the hearts under the sentiment (and darnit all, one of them came out crooked. so annoying.) I cut a piece of Hawaiian Shores cardstock down to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and stamped the background basics: text style stamp on the right side (man I wish Papertrey Ink would re-release the text style stamps long enough to stamp all the way across card on the 5 1/2" side!). I mounted the teal panel on an orange card base and then adhered the stamped and colored die cut on top of that. I'm mailing this card so I decided it was done and didn't need any bulky ribbons or anything to slow it down on it's journey :)

I had a very fun birthday Saturday, it wasn't very birthday-ish, but I got to spend it with my extended family which includes most of my favorite people ever, so that made it fun. and yesterday we had our last Christmas of the season so now I get to figure out where on earth I'm going to keep all of Bree's toys (we have a very tiny house and way too many generous gift givers!)

Anyways, have a fantastic day!

Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop

hello and happy blog hop day! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas (or whatever you celebrate or just an awesome Friday if you don't celebrate anything!) Today I have a card for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. (and today is also my 30th birthday! yay!)

This is the inspiration picture for this month:

My card is for sure not one of my favorites, but my studio is a disaster overflowing with Christmas fallout, so it's as good as can be expected :)

I die cut the mega mat stack 4 die with smokey shadow cardstock and stamped the sentiment with versamark and embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder. Then I stamped all of the leaves and berries first with white pigment ink, and then on top (but slightly offset) with dye ink, the berries are all in Lawn Fawn Lobster Ink, the holly leaves are Hero Arts Emerald and the other leaves are Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass dye ink. I smeared a little white pigment ink over the die cut with a makeup sponge to make it look like a chalkboard. I added the sparkly enamel dots and then attacked it with a white gel pen to add all of the details and the frame. I mounted it on a red card base stamped with the wood background in lobster ink and then added the baker's twine to finish it off! (the red cardstock is a little torn because it took me a few tries to settle on a design and one of the times i was moving the die cut around the adhesive didn't want to let go of the card base and I was too lazy and sleepy to stamp another base!)

So that's about it for me today, no big birthday plans as we have another Christmas celebration today with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. I'll be back to regular blogging next week. Have a great day!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas has exploded in my studio, I seriously can't even get in there right now. So I'll be back with a blog post on Saturday the 26th for the Papertrey Ink blog hop (on my birthday!)
Have a very merry Christmas!

December Daily days 1-5

Hi there!

I've got the first five days of this year's December Daily album to share today :)

sorry for the picture quality, I ended up having to take these in the middle of the night again so the light's all wonky!

so here's the front of my album again:

and the inside cover and the cover page:

Day 1: Just pictures of our advent calendar's and our Elf on the Shelf's arrival.
Day 2 is Bree watching the fireplace on Netflix :)

 Day 3 is the tree:
and Day 4 was a holiday work lunch and 5 is me and a cup of tea from my advent calendar!

I'm keeping things pretty simple this year since I'm kind of crazy behind. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! I've got my Star Wars tickets for 9:00 this morning and then we're going to a Dicken's Christmas Town later in the day, I have another Christmas race on Saturday night and then we'll hopefully head to Williamsburg on Sunday to take pictures of the decorations and go ice skating! I'm hoping to carve out some time during all of that to wrap some presents and get a bit more caught up in my December Daily album :) Bye!

My Christmas cards are done!!!

hello! My Christmas cards are finally finished and I'm so excited about them! (and excited to be done with them so I can get back to my December Daily album!)

Here's the card with the envelope:

Here's a big stack of the finished cards:

Here's the inside:

and here's a close-up of the card!

This card had a ton of stamping on it for a mass produced card which is why it took me about 4 nights to finish it. but so pretty! I just love those poinsettias. The MISTI for sure helped a ton with this card :)
But anyways, they are done and will head out in the mail today so hooray!

Can you believe that Star Wars comes out tomorrow?! eek! I'm so excited :)
We have our tickets for 9:00 AM on Friday morning, can't wait! (also- our theater has assigned seats, you have to pick your seats when you buy your tickets, so we don't have to show up crazy early or anything AND the seats are the amazingly comfy recliners so it'll be so much fun!)

I'll be back tomorrow with something non-Christmas card-y to share (finally). Have a great day!
