Sweet Sugared Holiday!

Hi! I worked crazy fast through nap time and I finished my card! This card is my first one of the week to feature Papertrey Ink's Petite Places: Holiday Lane stamp set, I'll hav more to share from that set on Wednesday and Friday! Today's theme for Online Card Class: Holiday Style is Shimmer & Shine and I think this definitely qualifies with all of the fun sugary glitter :)

Here's an angled picture to show off how sparkly that pretty sugary glitter is!

I'm super pleased with how this one turned out. I started out by die cutting the house and stamping that with all of the itty. bitty. tiny. little. stamps. seriously - this one is no joke - I definitely recommend using a MISTI with this stamp if you have it - I'll have a video up to show what I mean later this week. After the house was all stamped I cut out the trees and stamped them and then covered them with a layer of glossy accents and rock candy glitter. I stamped my wood background on the dark chocolate cardstock and then set that aside. I die cut the pierced circle out of white neenah cardstock. I wanted a sparkly snow bank with a sky over it so I die cut the snow drift out of masking paper and masked off the bottom of the circle so I could add my ink to the sky at the top. I used my ink blending tool to blend some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and My Favorite Things Sno Cone Hybrid Ink to make the sky. I stamped the sentiment on the sky using Lawn Fawn Lobster Dye Ink. I took my masking paper off of the circle and painted on some Matte Multi Medium over the white part of the circle and sprinkled my Distress Rock Candy Glitter over that. I die cut the bigger circle out of the stamped dark chocolate paper and then laid it over a white card base to sketch out the circle with a pencil. I drew my guide lines about a 1/4 inch bigger than the circle so the pencil marks wouldn't show up under the glitter. I painted the multi medium directly on the card base inside those pencil guide lines and sprinkled more of the rock candy glitter over that. Now it was time to start assembling everything! I added foam tape to the back of my dark chocolate piece and adhered that to the card base (after the multi medium was dry, naturally) I added more foam tape to the gingerbread house and adhered that to the pierced circle. I tucked the die cut, stamped, and glittered trees around it with glue dots and foam adhesive. I glued the circle down onto the glittered card base and finished the card off with some bakers twine!

Now I can eat dinner and get back to work on tomorrow's card! have a great night!
