Red cup!

hello! Today's card is for this week's sketch challenge over at MFT Card Challenges. I'm a little giddy about my red cup, it's so fun!

Anyways, on to the details! I started with the coffee cup die, I die cut the cup bits out of Poppy, Elf Green, Neenah Solar White, and Kraft Cardstock. I inked up the bottom of the cup with 3 shades of red Distress Ink using my ink blending tool. so pretty! I die cut the circle out of the kraft cup sleeve so I could inlay the green circle. I stamped the snowflake on the green circle in versamark and then embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I stamped the tiny little dots on the sleeve with Hero Arts white pigment ink and then assembled my cup. I stamped my wood background in Hot Fudge ink on Dark Chocolate paper cut to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and then heat set it. Next I stamped the snowflakes on the right side in versamark ink and then embossed them with white embossing powder. To make my pocket for the gift card I die cut a tag out of Summer Splash cardstock, the tag was a little too tall and covered too much of my gift card so I cut it down and added the stitching back on with the basic stitch lines die. I stamped the sentiment and the snowflakes on the pocket in Lawn Fawn lobster ink and then inked up the edges of the pocket with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I added doubled up strips of foam tape to the back of my pocket and cup to make 3 sides of a frame for the gift card and adhered them to my wood grain stamped paper. I mounted that to a Summer Splash card base and finished the card off with some baker's twine and sequins.
(I try to keep different empty gift cards in my studio for cards like this, but it was the middle of the night and the only Starbucks gift card I had was a Father's Day gift card with ties on it, so I die cut the circle out of some Washi Tape and covered the top of the gift card with the Washi tape so the logo would still show through the die cut circle. lol, I'll be sure to pick up a better variety of gift cards in the next few weeks...)

Bree & I didn't make it to the petting zoo yesterday, the friend we were supposed to go with got sick yesterday morning so we stayed at home all day (except for an afternoon Starbucks run).

I really like how the Red Cup turned out, I'll probably be die cutting a few for gift tags (we give a lot of Starbucks gift cards in this house at Christmas) and for my December Daily!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Petite Places: Holiday Lane Ornament (ohmygosh wait till you see it! It turned out so cute!) and a video with some tips and tricks for stamping a bunch of die cuts with the MISTI!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
