Hello! I have a card for this week's Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge, Cover Plate Watercoloring today, hope you like it!
Here's my card:
and again, at an angle to show off how sparkly it is! (I added the wink of stella shimmer after the video, I thought the card needed something so I played around with it while I was editing the video, and I thought the sparkle was the perfect touch!)
aaaand, Bree took a long nap today so I got to film the making of this card! (and I mostly kept my head out of the frame, AND I *mostly* kept my work in the frame! ---> progress.)
Ok, to start this card off I cut a piece of watercolor paper to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and die cut another piece of watercolor paper with the hexagon cover plate die. I taped down the die on top of my watercolor panel and then used it as a mask to paint my hexagons. I smooshed my ink pads on to my craft sheet and spritzed them with water for my paint. When I was done painting I removed the mask and dried my rainbow with my heat gun. I die cut the cloud out of patterned vellum and stamped the sentiment in black Staz On Ink. I adhered my cloud to my painted panel and then adhered the whole thing to a raspberry fizz card base. I cut off the excess cloud and added twine and rainstones and then finished off the card with wink of stella shimmer painted over all of the visible watercolor! super quick! (unless you're watching the video, then you might be wondering when. will. i ever. be. done.) :)
This card is a little bit messy for my taste, but it's in my favorite rainbow colors, so I can't be too mad at it! It was fun to break out of Christmas mode and make a fun rainbow card.
Anyways, thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
