Ms. Marvel!

hello and welcome to the weekend! (it sure took all week to get here...)

I guess it's about time to introduce myself as a nerd :)

I altered and colored this hero stamp to look like the new Ms. Marvel while I was on vacation last week. (was it really only last week? vacation seems so long ago. sigh) So to start, I stamped her on Neenah cardstock with My Favorite Things black ink. using the picture on the phone below as a reference, I drew in the lightning bolt on her torso (kind of. did i mention i can't draw?) and added a few lines on her wrist for her bracelet with a black sharpie pen. Then I used the picture as a reference to color her with copic markers and cut her out. A few days after I got home from vacation I dug her back out and got back to her card. I cut and scored the light gray cardstock into my card base and stamped the skyline border in soft granite ink. Next I die cut the skyline border from white Neenah cardstock. I stamped the sketched chevron background on the card base underneath my stamped city skyline in fairy dust ink. I adhered my white die cut city on top of my stamped city, off-setting it enough that you can definitely see enough of the stamped city beneath it to give it some nice dimension. I stamped the beginning line of my sentiment on the white city. I stamped the word amazing in red dye ink, but I wanted it to have a little more emphasis so I stamped over it again in versamark and then added clear embossing powder and heat set it. I added my Ms. Marvel to the card with foam adhesive and then finished off the card with sequins! (The star sequins were from Studio Calico but I suppose they don't sell them anymore as I couldn't find them on their website.)

We don't have too much planned this weekend. Today I get to do laundry, buy a housewarming present for a friend, make a gift tag for the present, and then go to the housewarming party. Then after I get home I should get a chance to work on my card for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop so chances are it'll be another very late night. (I stayed up all night again last night, organizing my inks. I'm typing this at 2:00 AM Saturday morning. *yawn*) On Sunday I think we're going to take Bree to a pumpkin patch! fun!
Anyways, I'll be back tomorrow for a bonus post this week for the blog hop! Have a marvel-ous *haha* day and thanks for stopping by!
