Make it Monday

hello! I've got a card for this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge today :)

This week's challenge is to create a focal cluster. super simple. I used the Ahoy stamp set because A. I've had it for a while and hadn't inked it up yet and B. I needed a nautical thank you card. Also, the fun simple images were perfect for this type of cluster design. So, again, super easy card: I trimmed down a white piece of cardstock and stamped the wave pattern, the sentiment, the anchor, and the seagulls (i promise there are seagulls there, my lighting was kind of wonky and brightening up the card enough to post mostly washed out the little seagulls, they do show up better in person.) Next i poked two holes by the top of the anchor to tie my baker's twine around. I traced a loopy line lightly in pencil that I wanted my twine to follow and then went over the line with liquid adhesive (I used matte multi medium) and glued the twine down. I mounted the cardstock on a red card base and finished it off with some enamel dots.

I logged in to my youtube channel today for the first time in a couple of years.
(I want to start filming card making videos but first I need to learn to make a card in once place, I kind of float all around my half of the studio while I craft. I have a tiny little standing desk that I stamp at, I usually bend down and use my paper trimmer on the floor, or I kind of brace it between my stomach and the edge of my desk while standing. weird. I do my copic coloring and any writing at my computer desk because I feel like i need to be sitting down to color for some reason. anyways, i'll work on it...)
I watched the video of my studio tour from 4 years ago just for giggles. I had so. much. space. I had this entire room to myself, since then, my daughter came along and kicked Jeff out of his man cave room and so he moved in and kicked me out of half of my studio. I had almost forgotten about my lovely big desk that I used to have i here. Now I work at a tiny little kitchen island from Ikea, that fills up very quickly when I'm working so I do much of my cardmaking bent over in half crafting on the floor. I also had weird stuff, I had forgotten about my tattered angels craze until I watched the video. "here's my glimmer mist, and here's my glimmer glam, and here's my glimmer glaze..." (I'm a slave to trends, I seriously had to have them all and barely used them) I think I might own one glimmer mist now? maybe? I used to have a whole shelf with my daylight lamps and photo tent to take pictures of my cards, now I drag my photo backdrop out from between my shelves and lie on my stomach on the floor to take pictures. Oh, and my favorite thing in my room ever? the cool color outside of the lines sign. that lives in my shed now. lol
Anyways, I'm in the process of organizing, I need another shelf (and about 2,000 more square feet!) so hopefully sometime in January my room will be "done" enough that I can shoot another tour video.
I suppose that's enough random babbling for one day. I'll be back tomorrow with another Mama Elephant Christmas Card!
