Close Knit

Hello and happy Monday! I've got this super sweet girl and her fun and nerdy scarf today!

Confession: This stamp almost didn't get colored. It took me about 4 tries to get her hair to look right and when I stamped her in black ink her scarf was way too dark. so annoying. Anyways, I stamped her in gray and then colored her with Copics - fun fact: Her scarf is the 4th Doctor's scarf from Doctor Who! (I looked up the pattern to get it right while I was coloring!) Nerdy details make me happy. (look for a Ms. Marvel card later this week!) Anyways (again) After I colored her, I cut her out with the pierced tag die. Then I wandered around my studio for a few minutes trying to figure out what the heck to do with the tag. Then I was delighted to discover that the sentiment I wanted to use would *just* perfectly fit above her on the tag. I went ahead and stamped the background next on red cardstock. I felt like the card was too naked with just the background and tag so I cut an extra inch of the bottom of the tag and stuck it to my stamped and colored tag to make it longer and then wrapped the baker's twine around where the two tag pieces met. It still felt a little naked so I added the three little cross stitches, attached the tag to the background, mounted everything on a card base and called it done! (I should note that the shading on her dress is definitely not so stark and crazy in person - I even went back to check the card after I looked at the picture and it looks much more normal on the card - promise!)

I took Bree to the beach yesterday and we had so much fun standing in the waves and playing in the sand (and then immediately taking a bubble bath!) Today we're going to swim some more and then take a little trip down the road to a scrapbook store! (all of the scrapbook stores near my house have closed so I'm pretty excited to go!)

Have a great day! I've got a Stamping Bella card for tomorrow!
