Make it Monday #21

Hi! Happy Wednesday!
Today's card is for this week's Make it Monday Challenge, using the "2 step polaroid masking technique"
This was kind of fun, i did stamp and emboss the clouds before i put my masks down to start any of the inking, then i just took a baby wipe to the clouds to wipe the ink off later. I kind of like how it turned out, if i were to make it again i think i'd make the focal point a lot smaller so i could do some more layering on the card and maybe a stitched border or two :)

on non-crafty topics:

still busy helping my mom go through all of her stuff for her move. I had to order a shed to hold all of the stuff she's leaving with me, i can't wait for it to be built so i finally have a place for everything :)

here's a small sampling of some of the randomness of stuff from my mom's house:
a hat (yes, it really is a hat, i wouldn't recommend wearing it though, it weighs a ton!) i won for volunteering (well, being volunteered by my mom) for a show at disney world during their 15th anniversary celebration

my mom had to explain this one to me, it's a pot for mixing spiced nuts (for when a spoon just won't do)

my grandma's hand painted tea set

a pile of vintage hankies, most of them are hand stitched!

and last but not least, my Dark Wing Duck happy meal toys!
(when in trouble just call DW!)

Make it Monday

Hi!
This week's Make it Monday challenge is to create tissue paper texture. I kind of like it, hadn't tried this one before. My first attempts weren't too pretty because i didn't choose a patterned paper with enough of a contrasting pattern, so it didn't turn out the way it wanted it. I dug out some vintage dress patterns to use as my tissue paper so that led to a sewing theme card :)
I love the pattern tissue paper over that cosmo cricket material girl paper, so cute!

Supplies: Everything's from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted
Cardstock: Kraft
Stamps: Button Boutique & Quilter's Sampler
Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket Material Girl
Embellishments: from PTI: Berry Sorbet Buttons, Berry Sorbet Twill Ribbon, Button Twine; Misc: Measuring Tape Ribbon, Dress Pattern, Stitching, Tiny Attacher, & Needle Embellishment
Dies: Button Card & Beautiful Blooms II #2

Make it Monday #17

Hi!
This week's
Make it Monday challenge was to use the cracked glass technique. I've played with it a bit before, but i don't make a lot of vintage-y or shabby chic stuff so i don't try this very often. This card was to fill an order for a nautical wedding card with sailboats. Wouldn't you know that with all of the stamps I own, the only sailboat stamp I have is the little tiny sailboat in Tiny Treats: Valentine?! Well that one wouldn't work so I took a piece of Websters Pages patterned paper and cut the sailboat out of that and then added the cracked glass :) I kind of love how well the ship's helm from Out To Sea goes with Guidlines II :D

Thanks for stopping by!
