Lawnscaping Challenge #10

Happy Friday!
long time no see!
My Dad just got orders to move to California so my Mom and I have to go through all of their stuff (and there's LOTS of it, serious pack-rat genes in my family) and get them ready to sell their house and move. it's shaping up to be a crazy busy summer (but i don't really want it to end because then my momma has to move away and she's my best friend! waaaah!)
sigh. anyways.
today's card is for Lawnscaping's 10th Challenge: Polka Dots! love me some polka dots and it gave me an excuse to finally ink up my critters in the snow! yay :)

Make it Monday #14 - selective inking

Today's make it monday challenge is near and dear to my heart, i "selectively ink" my stamps all of the time - or cut them apart if i anticipate usually only wanting to ink a certain part. i usually do this with sentiments, mostly wanting them in multiple or single lines when they aren't made that way, i do it with images too though, i have a great chandelier stamp from hero arts from the wish you were here set that has a raven on it, lovely for Halloween, but i don't think it goes for everyday chandelier stamping :) i got kind of tired of wiping it off with a baby wipe every time i inked it up, so i eventually cut the raven off, it's easy enough to line them up if i want to stamp them together, but it's out of my way for everyday use now :)

For today's card i "selectively inked" my sentiment to make it one line and my embossed flower in the background to make it stick up from behind the grass and book.

Thanks for stopping by! Lemme know what you think!

last minute panic :)

I had a tricky card request for one of Jeff's work friends. Jeff told me he wanted them custom made but i figured ok, a pink rose or something for one of the cards, i can do custom :)
not so much.
Jeff: "So he wants a Tiffany's Card, a Coach Card, & a Louis Vuitton Card"
Me: "Come again?!"

this was waaaaay out of my comfort zone (not to mention copyright laws, shhh don't tell!)

i had the weekend while i was out of town to think about it/freak out about it. and just like i always did with my homework i put it off until about 10:00PM the night before he needed it :)

but all in all, i'm pretty pleased with how they turned out, i do wish i could have stamped something that worked for the louis vuitton pattern, but you can't win them all :)

so without further ado:

the tiffany's card:
the louis vuitton card:

the coach card:

longer than i expected...

hi!
i had every intention of making a couple of cards for different challenges today and to get some posted here, but after running errands i started working on my layout for today (i'm doing LOAD again this month!) and then i had to take a break to shower before jeff got home (isn't married life fun?!) and then we had dinner and i just now finished the layout! so much for the rest of the day lol. so here's the layout (i did want to share something with you!), i stamped the background and the big polaroid with say cheese from lawn fawn and paired it with the super cute paper from echo park's playground line. i did some misting with my calico white mister huey (do you spray alot? i spritzed it, let it air dry, zapped it with my heat gun, alot, and it still never felt really dry! and nothing sticks to it really well - not even my helmar quick dry!)

so now i'm off to bed - hope to get a lot more done tomorrow :)
night!
