Just Popping In!

Hi Everybody!
Just dropping in really quickly today for a super short post because i'm off to maryland in about an hour for a fun long weekend! this weekend's agenda includes a red sox game at camden yards (!yay!), a sightseeing trip to dc, hopefully we'll make it to the spy museum (fun!), and then on saturday we're heading to richmond for a fantastic dinner and then we're seeing beauty and the beast and the landmark theater!!! (so excited about that! i've been wanting to see the broadway production of beauty and the beast for years!)

so anyways - thanks to everyone this week for such wonderfully sweet comments! i had a couple of questions about different things this week and i'll be sending out answer emails sunday night or monday when i get back home :)

today's card is for my dad's birthday and the hero arts contest for this month!
(you can find all of the contest details here)

i loved the wrapping paper i picked up at hallmark and really wanted to carry the design into the card so i was getting ready to just draw myself a plaid design with some markers and a ruler when i decided somewhere on my wall of stamps i had to own a stamp to make it easier and sure enough!

here's the front of the card and the envelope with a coordinating present!
here's just the front of the card:
and here's the inside: (i love how the inside turned out! it's kind of backwards for me - i usually stamp the pattern on the bottom, but i love how it looks on the top!)
thanks for stopping by! i'd love to know what you think!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy, Smokey Shadow, & White
Stamps: Hero Arts My Type, Happy Definition, & Large Plaid Pattern, Lawn Fawn Harold's ABCs, and Papertrey Ink Inside and Out Birthday
Ink: Memento London Fog & Jenni Bowlin Cough Syrup and Fountain Pen Dye Inks

My Studio!!!

Hi!
My studio is fairly organized (and clean!) so i figured it was about time for a tour :)
I took a few pictures and then i filmed a little video walkthrough (it was my first video ever so forgive me for all of my "umm"s and for the less than stellar quality!)

this is the view from the door looking in at my desk
the shelves directly across from desk
and looking out towards the hallway
and here's the video
enjoy!

thank you so much for stopping by! i'd love to know what you think!

April's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

It's here!
One of my favorite days of the month!
This month's blog hop challenge was:

This month's blog hop is dedicated to all the boys and men in our lives! Now's your chance to create Father's Day projects, boy birthday cards and more to build up your stash! Focus on masculine color schemes, fresh pattern combinations, understated embellishments and unique uses of images you may already have in your stash!

There are tons of fun cards to hop along to so i'll keep this short and sweet :)

I broke out my Postmarks stamp set and some Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine Paper to make a fun masculine-ish birthday card.
*note: the kraft glassine gets more fun texture the more you handle/crinkle/ball and twist it up - keep some on hand for a fun and crafty stress release! we're usually so careful with paper but it can be really therapeutic to just mush it and ball it up sometimes :)

So here's the front of my card:

and the inside:
So thanks so much for hopping by! I'd love it if you could take the time to leave a comment or become a follower of my blog!!! :D
Have a fantastic day and have fun at the hop!

Everything's from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted

Hedgehogs!

Hi! Happy Tuesday!
Today's card is for Lawnscaping Challenge #8 - to use any critters on a card - with all of lawn fawn's adorable critters to choose from the hardest part was picking which one to ink up!
In the end I had to go with the hedgehog
*fun fact - did you know that hedgehogs float in the water? and that they love shiny things? and if you put them in a tub with some water in it and put a few shiny pennies in the bottom of the tub they'll keep trying to bob down to get to the pennies? fun for the whole family. backstory: one of my boyfriends in college had a pet hedgehog (shhh don't tell res life!) in his dorm room and watching his hedgehog play around in water was a great way to not study :)

anyways... i went pretty simple with this card but i love how it turned out - and i'm LOVING Harold's ABCs my new absolute favorite stamp set.
so here's my card:
The sentiment is totally appropriate - i've been pretty anti-social with some of my extended family which has caused some tensions and whatnot and now i have to be a grownup this week and fix everything. (when all i really want to do is stomp my feet and stick my tongue out at people) sigh.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
I'd love it if you could take a minute to leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Cardstock: Papertrey Ink's Kraft Cardstock

Hi! How was your weekend?
Mine was so much fun! On Saturday Jeff and I had a date! We started off at the farmer's market in Williamsburg, we bought some herbs for the kitchen (thyme, cilantro, & parsley) and some local honey. Then we had an awesome lunch at the Trellis and headed over to New Town where we stopped in at the awesome wine store they were having a wine tasting! we had some gnocchi (my favorite!) with some red wine that was just phenomenal. we brought home a couple bottles (i'm totally going back next saturday - i love that store!) and played board games and watched movies for the rest of the night!

(us in Williamsburg - i love the photo booth app on my phone!)

anywho, on to today's card!
Today's Make it Monday challenge was to use heat embossing!
