embellish challenge

I've been sick the past couple of days so i don't have a whole lot to share, but i did play along with Embellish Magazine's paint or mist color challenge :)

I got some Studio Calico Mister Huey's Mists to play with. I used Heirloom Blue to paint my big dahlia and then flicked some other colors over the top :)

magic of christmas :)

I was really quick off the line today with this week's make it monday challenge. i knew exactly what i wanted to make :)
i love it when that happens. super happy morning :)
This week's challenge is to stamp frosted images with a two step stamping and little smudging technique.
go watch lisa johnson's video and play along!

my card is a super simple rustic-y christmas card :)
i made my snowflakes frosted by stamping first in weather vane jenni bowlin dye ink and then on top with paper white fresh ink pigment ink (whew. what a mouthful!)

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great week!

the gemstones are from hobby lobby, i can't remember the brand (i threw away the packaging!)

Foxy Fall

cards magazine's blog is having a challenge this week to use foxes on cards, play along here!

I got out my new Lawn Fawn Winter Fox stamp set and a whole mess of fun Studio Calico goodness to make this gift card holder card :)

I made this card with my mama in mind. now that she lives in California (so far away from me in Virginia!) I suppose I'll be sending many more cards her way. and you just can't go wrong with a starbucks gift card :)

This weekend the weather played a lovely trick on me, almost made me think fall was here with the drizzly rain and temperatures in the 60s. The next week will be back in the 80s. sigh. I can't wait for fall. I dug all of my sweaters and scarves out of hiding and played dress up :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Let me know what you think!

dreaming of a starbucks caramel apple spice,

thermal sleeve, plastic stopper, and gift card are from starbucks!
