Day 160 - Lovely Lace

This is the last card for the month of August!!!!
I actually completed an entire month at 365 cards!!!!
This was challenge #160 - to use lace on a card

I didn't have any real lace so i used this lace die cut felt sticker :)

Queen & Co.: felt lace
Kaisercraft: gems
Hero Arts: Sentiment
Basic Grey: Paper

Day 184 - Movie Monday

Today's Challenge at 365 cards was to be inspired by the movie Pretty in Pink :)

LOVE this movie!!! Pam picked this movie because of John Hughes' recent death. It's nice to know that there are other people in the world who were sad about this! I told my husband John Hughes had died and he said "who?" I of course looked at him like he was an alien, and said "John Hughes? Pretty in Pink? Sixteen Candles? Ferris Bueller's Day Off? The BREAKFAST CLUB!?!?!" nope, my husband hasn't seen those movies, he thinks he watched part of Ferris Bueller once... so I turned to my mom, who also didn't have a clue who John Hughes was...I spent less time alive in the 80s than they did! Where were they?!

anyways, having a TERRIBLE day today so leave a fabulous comment and make me smile :)

clearly Duckie is my favorite part of the movie (isn't he everyone's favorite?!)

Day 183 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to use this sketch for our card :)
I didn't really do anything elaborate, i ripped my craft room apart yesterday to rearrange everything, so right now i have a shaky 2 foot stack of paper and stuff all over my desk (& every other flat surface lol) so i put my paper trimmer on my lap and constructed my card on that :)

I should get to a reasonable level of organization tomorrow & i'll post pictures of my new room :)

Supplies: Fancy Pants Designs paper & rubons

Day 181 & 182 - White Space & Sporty Saturday

I spent most of Friday out of the house and then i overhauled my craft room so i didn't get to make Friday's card on friday :)

For Friday's challenge at 365 cards we had tp use white space, we could only have embellishments in the black lines of the sketch :)

Queen & Co.: Felt Flower Border
Hero Arts: Sentiment
Quickutz: Flower
Papercut: Cardstock
Kaisercraft: Gems & Pearls
Other: Fabric

For Saturday's challenge we had a sports theme and had to put a ball on our card somewhere :)
Go Sox!!!

Close to my Heart: Homestead Alphabet, Moonstruck Cardstock
White linen paper from Paper Cut
Random brad (maybe from eyelet outlet?!)

Day 179 - Checkerboard Background

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to use a checkerboard pattern as the background on a card Fun! I had so many ideas for this, it was hard to pick just one :)

I realized that brown is my absolute favorite color to use in cards & papercrafting in's just the BEST neutral, it looks AWESOME with really any color, anyways, getting a little rambly so to sum it up: yay brown! :)

Close To My Heart paper, ribbon, & button
Pink Paislee flower

Day 178 - Back to School...

I got a little cranky when i read today's challenge at 365 cards, it was to make a back to school card, which makes today my 4th back to school card this month lol

I didn't want to make this one like the other 3 so i decided to center it around school supply shopping (back to school time is my favorite shopping time all year lol, i LOVE school supplies lol)
(is there a single scrapbooker/card maker who doesn't love school supplies?)

oh, btw, i MADE the pencil and eraser out of paper, how awesome is that?!
(yeah, i get a little cocky when i'm excited lol)

Patterned Paper: Green Apples - Creative Imaginations, Zebra Print shirt - American Crafts
All other Supplies Close to my Heart

today's challenge at 365 cards was to use a monogram (we used the term loosely - we just had to include an initial or set of initials)

Thanks for all of the well-wishes for yesterday!!!
Jeff & I had a great day, we finished off Friends (we've spent the last couple of months working through the entire series on's my favorite show and Jeff had never watched it!), then we watched The Spirit, and we finished the day out with Singing in the Rain (yay!) :)

Day 176 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to use this sketch:

Here's my card!

No time to post anything else today - it's Jeff's & my movie day! One Sunday every month we snuggle up on the couch and spend the whole day being lazy in front of the tv, we play video games & watch movies :)
Happy Sunday!

a seasonal tree!

after making yesterday's 365 challenge card i played around with the stamp set i used and came up with these seasonal variations :)

Supplies: everything from Close to my Heart Grown with Love stamp set White Daisy Cardstock & a bunch of ink lol

Day 175 - Stampin' Saturday

Today at 365 cards our challenge was to layer stamping (not with masking but stamping right on top of another image!)

This was fun :)

I layered all of my different grass stamps and then stamped my tree right on top of that and then built my leaves and flowers on top of each other :)

My Minds Eye patterned paper
all other supplies from Close to my Heart
Sweet Leaf, Chocolate, Creme Brulee, & Sunflower Exclusive Inks
Grown with Love stamp set
Colonial White cardstock

Day 174 - "Just Peachy"

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to make a card that used peach as the dominant color.

It's kind of hard to read the sentiment on my card (it's on acetate, it wasn't easy to photograph lol) so here it is:
"Love is always bestowed as a gift - Freely, Willingly, and without expectation. We don't love to be loved; We love to love."
~ Leo Buscaglia

isn't that pretty? :)

sleepy now, going to bed *yawn*

Day 173 - *Mixed Message*

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to: "Incorporate THREE ways to create a sentiment to make one big sentiment. Mix and match things like stamped, alpha stickers, handwritten, computer-generated, transfers, etc: I used alphabet stickers, a 3D sticker, & a tea bag!

It's Day 2 in the diet coke-less's not going so well lol
I definitely decorated my card backwards, the opening is not on the right where it belongs, oh no, my card opens on the in point that bad things happen without caffeine...

I wanted to add more to the card but i have an all day card class i'm teaching today!!! (yikes! i'm late, i'm late! for a very important date! no time to say hello, goodbye! i'm late, i'm late, i'm LATE!!!!)

(wow, again, BAD things happen without caffeine lol)

Day 172 - ABCs & 123s :)

Today's challenge at 365 Cards was to use alphabet stickers and at least one number :)
in an effort to use up my overflowing gallon-sized bag of letter stickers, i created my background out of them! yay! (if i had a use for a zillion back 2 school cards i'd keep making these all day just to get rid of some of these stickers lol)
now that i'm looking at the picture i'm thinking my 2 stickers wasn't the best - if you can't see it - i promise there is a blue #2 inside that little green square lol

Anybody remember the show Ducktales?! I found the theme song on a Disney collection CD & it's an awesome blast from the past lol

*Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, airplanes, it's a duck blur
might solve a mystery or rewrite history

(sorry - you can blame my rambly post on the lack of diet coke in my house this morning lol)

Thanks for stopping by!
the back to school letters are from doodlebug and are covered with Glitter Glitz White Pearl glitter (if you haven't tried this yet, it's awesome - it's my favorite glitter for snow because it has some shine but not the normal crazy glitter shine that makes your snow look like little crystals lol)
the background paper is from (what else?) cosmo cricket!
all of the other stickers are from the dreaded bag-o-letters...couldn't tell you the different brands if my life depended on it lol

Da 170 - Double Duty

Today's challenge at 365 cards was to make a card that doubles as something else & it couldn't be a gift card or money holder
I made a *flameless, battery powered* votive candle holder :)
(please don't use real flames around your cards! i don't want ANY fires started because of this lol)
{for once the cave-like lighting in my craft room actually worked to my advantage for photography lol}

here's a close-up of the panel on the left :)
American Crafts Cardstock
My Mind's Eye Patterned Paper from the Bella Bella line
Treasures stamp set from Close to my Heart

Day 169 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Happy Sunday Everybody!!!
It's that time again, time for another Super Sketchy Sunday @ 365 Cards :)

confession: i buy scrapbook lines the way other people buy baby clothes...i saw the Lil Man line from Cosmo Cricket & had to buy all of the paper, two packs of the rub-ons, and 2 of the cardstock stickers...just to scrapbook my future sons lol
and i really had great intentions, the whole line was sitting in a zip top bag in my craft closet, safely out of my reach, but it jumped out yesterday while i was searching for something "toile-ish" and so was sitting on top of my mountain of paper on my desk this morning...just begging to be played with. My goal is to put it back away (hmm, maybe i need a little future project deposit box at my mom's to keep my paper safe from me lol) today until i am actually ready to use it on said future children :) wish me luck!
Here's today's sketch:

and here's my card :) (it's flipped, but it still follows the sketch, i promise!)
Hemp from Close to my Heart
Everything else is from Cosmo Cricket's Lil Man line :)

Day 155 - Super Sketchy Sunday

ok, so i'm trying go back and complete the challenges i missed this month at 365 cards :) wish me luck!
This challenge was to use this sketch on a card:
so here's my card!

Day 168 - A Touch of Toile

so today I, along with a bunch of other 365ers, learned a new word lol.
Definitely didn't have a clue what toile was and certainly didn't own anything "toile-ish" (yup, it's a word, it's MY word lol)
so i googled toile and got some neat pictures and said oh, it's THAT stuff, huh, didn't know it was called that lol
I had to run to my mom's to use her printer to print my background paper because i'm just about out of ink :)
I made the flower, how awesome is that?! It's from a pear punch, who thinks these things up? The lady that writes the flower punch books must be the macgyver of scrapbooking...(*hmm what can i make with a pear and a sunburst? i know! a rose!*)
I actually completed my first full week @ 365!!! Yay!

google for my patterned paper lol (i can't remember the site i found this from, oops!)
the sentiment is from cloud nine designs
